Windows Desktop Support Specialist POSITION GENERAL DUTIES AND TASKS: The Windows Desktop Support Specialist reports to the EMS Service Delivery Manager, and partners closely with colleagues performing similar roles and users of the Bank
Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). The Windows Desktop Support Specialist will have a range of responsibilities including but not limited to:
Supporting Bank staff with problems encountered with their VDI machines
Installing desktop software, resolving capacity constraints, performing Windows configuration
Collaborating with Bank Infrastructure Operations teams in the migration of the VDI platform to VMWare Horizon 8
Developing scripts that automate service operation procedures.
Responding to Service Desk tickets in a timely fashion
Contributing to a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team
Engaging in change and continuous improvement in operating processes the successful applicant will:
be able to evidence good problem-solving skills; be motivated, organized, a self-starter, proactive, quality-focused; possess excellent verbal communication and comprehension skills;
Experience in a Windows desktop support role in a Windows 7 or Windows 10 virtual desktop environment realized by VMWare Horizon technology
