Identification of trends and potential risks to the business including future developments required in the risk and control framework. Supporting control owners and control owner delegates using NFR framework knowledge and experience/insights Enabling the business to articulate the risk profile of the business clearly, consistently, and comprehensively including the integrity of processes and controls or risks that may take the risk profile of the business outside of tolerance. Promoting accountable risk and control decision making, desired behaviors and a positive risk culture. The Opportunity: (Brief Overview of the Role) The role plays a key role in the identification and management of risks in the UK Wealth Distribution business including: Analysis and interrogation of data, MI, and other intelligence to proactively identify risks in the business. NFR, Risk, Control and Continuous Monitoring Assessment Production of Management Information and Reporting Production of Risk updates/Reports and meeting packs for UK Wealth Distribution Governance and attendance at key governance meetings representing Wealth Distribution Risk What you\'ll do: (List out Key Responsibilities) Impact on the Business GROW Provide support in all areas of responsibility. Support coordination of GPB CCO activities across all NFR pillar activities. Participate in functional meetings and escalate any issues/challenges in a timely manner and propose solutions where required. STREAMLINE Support & drive increasing operational efficiency and resilience of GPB across CCO as well as GPB wide direct and indirect cost. Place risk management culture at the centre of the GPB business, ensuring fair client outcomes and a resilient business. Ensure a consistent application of solutions across GPB entities, leveraging best practice, and there is an appropriate read-across to other entities when issues arise. PROTECT Adhere to all relevant Audit and Compliance requirements Customers / Stakeholders: Maintain excellent high-quality records Provide accurate and timely MI Ensure all processed MI\'s/region specific tasks and reports are accurate and shared as per agreed timelines. Observe/Analyse MI Areas of improvement and suggest corrective action whenever applicable Ensure timely escalation of all delays/challenges and proactively look for resolution to minimise any negative impact Ensure that stakeholder expectations are met with highest level of professionalism and value led exceptional service Leadership & Teamwork: Acts as a good team leader and show a positive collaborative attitude, promoting HSBC\'s values and behaviors (e.g., taking time to help others, respects others ideas, wants to move forward) Uses different styles of communication relevant to the audience - communicates messages in a clear, consistent and honest manner Maintains team\'s personal and professional development, increasing professional knowledge and skills experience. Successful delivery of considerable optimization & efficiency gain project undertaken Timely completion of planned activities without any delay attributable to GSC functions. Recorded evidence by Line Manager and business stakeholders Cross train with other regions within CCO team for optimal resource utilization Identify opportunities of cost save / Process reengineering which may include and not limited to: Lean ideas suggested / Implemented Six Sigma Projects Cost save initiatives undertaken Realized Cost save Realised considerable efficiency gain Nil evidence of breaches towards the bank\'s policies & regulations like Data Protection and Privacy, Anti Money Laundering, Information Risk policy and regulatory requirements, process specific regulations. Abide by Group Compliance policy Clarity and proactive mode of communication and on time completion of deliverables Positive feedback from agreed business and functional stakeholders Feedback from agreed key stakeholders / local Teams / colleagues and Management teams Engage our workforce to maximise contribution and commitment Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: (Minimum Qualification and Skills Required) Experience working in and leading activity in relevant environments e.g., Operational Risk, Risk Identification and Management, Wealth, IWS&I (E) Excellent written and spoken communication skills, an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences (E) Ability to build and manage effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same (E). Have a comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others compliance with relevant regulatory processes (E) Hold a track record of gaining an understanding of customer needs and delivering excellent customer service (E) Educated to graduate level (or equivalent level of experience) (M) Strong Excel (particularly large data sets / modelling) and report production (M) Prior Business Management & Experience of producing high quality reporting to tight deadlines (E) Prior Team Management experience or strong inclination towards people & team management (E) Ability to investigate items in detail / Meticulous attention to detail (E) Ability to work with info from various systems and make sense of data /express clearly with assumptions used (E) Ability to deliver on time and at a consistent professional level (E) Recognised strong organisational skills. (E) Experience within Financial services (E) Ability to work alone or as part of a team, as required (E) Analytical analysis, data mining and scenario modelling experience (E) Effective presentation, interpersonal, negotiation, communication and analytical skills. (E) Understanding of GPB Strategy, knowledge of HSBC tools and processes (D) Experience of project management processes (D) Change agent and evidence of process improvement in previous roles (D) Ability to step back and look to improve process and efficiency (D) What additional skills will be good to have (List out good to have skills and certifications) GPB wide role - The Role Holder will communicate regularly with various offices globally and all levels of seniority including all the product specialist teams. The jobholder will be required to support the management of programmes/projects and governance forums, representing his/her team as appropriate Understanding of financial reporting aspects and moderate level knowledge of all investment, banking, insurance and credit products offered by GPB. Knowledge of operational, trading and overall business knowledge would be beneficial. Highly professional approach, competent with the ability to work independently and drive forward elements of key GPB product and service-related projects. Exercise any/all delegated authorities with due care and diligence. Major Challenges GPB CCO Team needs to ensure processes implemented are robust, transparent and fit for purpose will be crucial in enabling the success of the team. Continual development is required by the role holders in understanding of a complex global business and changing regulatory environment. Continual need to improve in-depth understanding of operational process/procedures and systems needed to support GPBs complex product and service offering. Effective and strong global stakeholder management required across all levels within the business and functions. Proficient in multi-tasking and engage with different stakeholders both internally and externally Tight deadline management of own tasks and tasks within a project Steep but wide learning curve across a global complex business with a diverse product range.
