We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the CCS Underwriting Services team.

Job Introduction

To manage application appraising for new home loans and builder approvals, within the framework of the Credit Policy within stipulated Service Level Agreements (SLA). This involves underwriting of complex collateralised, high-ticket mortgages. The variances in property markets and state legal systems make it necessary to have an in-depth knowledge of underwriting practices, keeping in mind the policy requirements for each segment. The job will include liaising with the stake holders to ensure better operational efficiency and compliance to external and internal regulatory guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

Impact on the Business / Function

  • Promotes strong asset and loan quality, establish, and maintain consistent and high standards of credit approval practices
  • Maintain consistent judgmental lending decisions to maintain a healthy portfolio and maximize profitability.
  • Establishing and ensure consistent and prudent approvals are made at all times across all products in compliance with FIM, CPG and regulator.
  • Regular evaluation of approval/reject rates, work processes/controls
  • Manages underwriting to ensure delivery of quality credit decision in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Ensure that Service Level Agreements for appraising the loan application are met.
  • Monitor projects and builder exposure.
  • Assistance to achieve the AOP B & D targets.
  • Understand the legal system prevalent in different states to ensure that the collateral is secured by way of adequate documentation.
  • Understanding of property types, local regulations relating to deviations on property
Customers / Stakeholders
  • Provide regular feedback to the stake holder (EAM/ Sales/LGA/ Operations) so as to improvise the quality of reports.
  • Promotes and maintain high levels of customer service
  • Promotes collaboration between onshore, offshore team and business partners to deliver results aligned with business partner\xe2\x80\x99s expectation
  • Provide inputs for review of Credit policy to acquisition team such that the same are in line with shifting trends in the Retail Assets industry.
Operational Effectiveness & Control
  • Monitor the implementation of the Credit Policy for Secured Loans
  • Ensure that the credit and the risk function for the loans is compliant with the recommendations made by audit.
  • Improve processes to achieve consistency in decisioning process.
  • Manage and review proposals that are in exception to policy.
  • Process improvement.
Requirements
  • Min 10 years of work experience, of which at least 5 year should be in Underwriting or Credit Operations.
  • Have a good understanding of the overall Retail Lending operations (Pre-Issuance)
  • Good understanding of Credit Bureau \xe2\x80\x93 CIBIL. Mus be able to interpret the bureau tradelines and taken an informed decision.
  • Good understanding of local market & retails products.
  • Good verbal, written communication, interpersonal skills
  • One of the below qualifications are mandatory:
  • FRM/PRMIA /CA/ICWA/CS/CFA/M.Com or
  • MBA Finance or equivalent or
  • MSC/MS Finance or equivalent or
  • PGDM /PGDBM / PGDRM or equivalent or
  • Certificate Examination in Certified Credit Professional - IIBF or
  • Diploma Certification Course in Risk Management \xe2\x80\x93 NIBM
