JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: UX Architect
A UX Architect will work on designing user-centered solutions while balancing the needs of the business. Solve the right problems for our users, in the right way, with a mix of generative and evaluative research and discovery by partnering with product managers and engineers during this process.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Conduct user and stakeholder research and translate findings to user snapshots, experience maps, wireframes, and prototypes.
• Collaborate with other team members, stakeholders, product managers, and engineers. Must be a good communicator, articulate at storytelling, and able to champion new ideas.
• Create prototypes (Figma preferred), from wireframes to high fidelity mockups
• Partner with other designers, cross-functional partners and business stakeholders to identify pain points, desires and needs, make strategic design decisions, and rapidly test assumptions. This won't always be creating things from scratch, but working within existing frameworks to deliver small, iterative value over time.
• Design with data and user feedback.
• Work within existing design patterns, and define new patterns when needed to ensure users have have a consistent experience across all PC platforms.
• Proactively partner with engineering across multiple product areas to drive product quality.
• Develops and maintains a productive work teams by hiring qualified personnel, training, and managing performance.
• Manages teams with integrity, ethical business practices, and in accordance with Mouser policies, procedures, and practices.
• Customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more full-time employees or their equivalent. Makes suggestions and recommendation for these employees regarding performance, including hiring, transfer, advancement, and termination.
• Manages daily operations to meet department and company objectives.
• Works with minimum supervision and makes independent judgments.
• Flexible to meet the changing needs of the business and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments.
• Initiates, establishes and maintains highly effective relationships with internal and external business contacts of various cultures, and at all levels.

SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS

• A portfolio demonstrating your prowess in IA, heuristics, ecommerce best practices, UI and visual design
• Have a track record of defining the root problems for users and creating solutions to solve that problem, with insights and inputs to back your decisions
• Ability and know-how to move forward through discovery phases, to arrive at a solution
• Skilled in creating digital products that are valuable to your users
• Designing solutions around the principles of user-centered design
• Clear and precise writing and communication skills.

Good to have

• Running and/or synthesizing user research
• Building and maintaining Design Systems
• Designing/Coding pages using (CSS)
• UI Designing skills

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Arts or Science or related field. In lieu of a degree, 3 years as a UX Strategist or a higher-level position. In addition to the above the following experience is required:
• Internal candidates: Minimum 2 years as a highly performing Mouser Team Lead or a higher-level position, or 1 full year as a highly performing Mouser Developer Lead/Coordinator.
• External candidates: Minimum 2 years as a UX Designer/ Experience Designer supervisor or a higher-level management position.
