Role Description:-

You will be joining the Treasury Controls team. The Treasury Controls team acts as the Treasury Control Office supporting the Divisional Control Officer (DCO) and Global COO for Treasury, within the oversight of all aspects of the department's Trading Non-Financial Risk (NFR) control frameworks and supporting the broader Treasury department.

The Treasury Controls team is the Business Management & Control (BMC) function for the Treasury trading functions, facilitating the operating and ongoing enhancement of the Bank's trading controls within Treasury. In addition, the team is also responsible for several aspects of Treasury's Benchmark Control Framework, and ongoing compliance with non-prudential Regulation.

Your key responsibilities

This role is to provide coverage across the global Treasury control responsibilities.
  • Provide support to Treasury Controls team and Treasury staff covering control execution and reported metrics, for centrally managed controls
  • Project-based support for the global Treasury Controls team on a range of design and implementation tasks covering a broad range controls topics (Trading Controls, Compliance, Anti-Financial Crime etc)
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders within Treasury 1LoD and various related support functions to support the operation and enhancement of the department's control frameworks
  • Partnership with other Divisional DCO & BMC functions to ensure Bankwide consistency of the implemented controls, and participate in the ongoing improvement of the Bank's control environment
  • Leveraging control metrics to identify deficiencies requiring control reviews

  • Knowledge / experience of typical Front Office trading desk activity, and the associated control frameworks (as practitioner or in a desk-facing support function) ( Good to have )

Experience/ Exposure:
  • At least couple of years of experience in dealing with control concepts
  • Knowledge of Treasury and broader Trading Desk organisations is beneficial but not essential
  • Awareness of the "3 Lines of Defence" model, and the various typical control frameworks (Compliance, Financial Control, Risk Management etc)
  • Hands on experience in dealing Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills is a must.
