Objectives of the Position

• Fulfil the transportation planning requirement for Bulk Movements from BASF India’s manufacturing plants with high service levels and optimal costs.
• Take care of delivery requirements of customers (internal & external) and service issue resolutions.
• Perform operations within approved costs and deliver service excellence.
• Focus on high quality service delivery and establish internal relationships to display expertise.
• Monitor and rate the service performance of Logistics Service Providers against defined Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements
• Actively contribute and recommend improvement areas in services for supplier development
• Analyze and provide opportunities for improvement, optimization and effective management of Logistics Service Providers, including regular performance reviews structural improvements with LSPs and business units
• Support development of risk assessment as well as contingency plans and apply respective measures in collaboration with service providers and internal stake holders
• Work on projects, often from initial idea through to design, completion and review.
• Foster a one team culture by collaborating with the various stakeholders in BASF India Limited and Supply Chain Operations.

• Transportation Planning for Bulk Shipments for BU’s by managing vehicle availability to ensure the forecasted outbound sales volumes are met, by working closely with the stakeholders.
• Maintain desired service levels as defined by the KPIs.
• Conduct regular & structured service provider performance reviews
• Contribute towards continuous improvements within the value chain and process flows pertaining to transportation
• Perform RCA and CAPA when required to strengthen processes & develop potential solutions to address process gaps.
• Analyse and interpret shipping data for representation of performance and enhance a business centric approach towards problem solving.
• Successfully manage small to medium sized projects in digilatization and efficiency improvements.

• Education: Engineering degree or above from a reputed institution. Degree in logistics, supply chain or related discipline would be preferred
• Working Experience: Above 4-6 years working experience in logistics and transportation related areas, work experience in chemical industry would be preferred.
• Technical & Professional Knowledge: Good capability in written and verbal English and Hindi; has intercultural competence, communication, and language skills; proactive and solution orientated; has issue handling skills; skillful in excel, word and power point; Experience in SAP preferred.
• Skills: Numeracy skills and the ability to interpret data, written and oral communication skills, problem solving and analytical skills - finding a range of solutions, understanding their effects and making recommendations, confidence in dealing with a range of people including procurement, business unit heads, service providers etc., the ability to communicate complex ideas and issues clearly and accurately, often to a non-technical audience, project management skills, the ability to work as part of a team, computer litracy, an interest in supply chain & logistics.
