Department Description Client technology comprises of Fidelity\'s Institutional Business Units in the UK and other parts of Europe and is a strategic area targeted for growth over the coming years. The Technology Department has been acting as the key enablers for the business in achieving their goals. The DB portfolio of projects will include a large collection of strategic initiatives as well as tactical ones to support day-to-day operations and strengthen the environment. Purpose of the Role Technical Specialist assumes responsibility for architecture oversight and technical leadership during the course of technology development projects. The person will also be responsible for definition and maintenance of the FIL technical delivery method, comprising all aspects of project delivery from requirement gathering, design, and development and testing. This role is for a Technical Specialist, who can understand complex technical requirements and has the ability to translate the same into technical solution. Key Responsibilities Work with the business analysts and enterprise architects to devise and propose the technical solution to business problems or new opportunities Prepare system and technical high level design documents, review low level design documents Create and maintain data models, design data base objects For assigned projects, ensure all application construction or modification work associated with an assigned project is undertaken in compliance with technology roadmap provided by FIL Enterprise Architect group For assigned projects, ensure that all project technical artefacts are constructed, compiled, packaged and documented in accordance with FIL Technology development methodology, technical delivery method and quality gates Support and mentor analyst programmers and senior analyst programmers in all technical deliveries, review their codes and provide technical guidance Build trusted relationships with business partners and proactively seek feedback on systems processes and personal performance Analyze technical issues, flag risks and provide solution approach to such issues. Design, develop and review large and complex load routines to load data in target tables Design, develop and review ETL mappings/sessions/workflows using Informatica power center Responsible for end to end design, coding, testing, review, user acceptance testing, and implementation. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization or enhancement of existing processes. Conceptualize and design ETL loading strategy, Data archiving, Data reconciliation, ETL error handling, Error logging mechanisms, workflow recovery, provide standards and best practices. Data quality assessment of source systems and data cleansing engagements and provide DQ strategy, architecture, design and implementation Provide data migration strategies for initial data load. Prepare and review technical documentations on the deliverables Ensure codes are maintained in version control system and participate in code deployments with the Deployment team Prepare Implementation plan for deployment into production, provide secondary production support during initial phases after go live Strong conceptual thinking and ideation skills passion for brainstorming ideas, sketching concepts and connecting pieces to solve problems. A can-do attitude and a naturally curiosity to find better solutions. Working experience as a team lead: understanding personal and team roles contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback providing guidance, clarification and feedback to less-experienced staff. Experience and Qualifications Required B.E. / B.Tech. / MCA / MCM or equivalent (Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted) with around 9 yrs of relevant industry experience \'Hands on\' comprehensive experience of project lifecycle, with emphasis on technical ETL design and development and creation of data model Proven track record of high-quality project deliveries and technical achievements Strong knowledge of Relational Databases concepts/ Oracle architecture and Oracle database objects. Experience in designing ER diagrams using data modelling tools (e.g. Erwin, ER Studio). Expertise in writing advanced Oracle SQL queries (DML/DDL) Experience in data normalization/denormalization and Performance Tuning / techniques for large databases. 6+ years of hands-on experience in creating Oracle packages, procedures, Triggers, & Functions on Oracle 4+ years of hands-on experience in design and development of Informatica Mappings/Workflows 1+ years of experience on Informatica B2B Data Transformation with ability to handle excel, word document and PDF file loads 1+ years of experience of working with XML sources and targets 2+ years of hand-on experience in writing UNIX shell scripting using either Korn or Bash shell Good analytical skills and ability to analyze source data both using SQL queries and Informatica IDQ tool Should have provided Data Quality strategy, architecture, design and implement DQ assessment data cleansing solutions Hands-on experience on the Snowflake implementation, Data Ingestion patterns, Data Models, Data Quality framework etc. Experience of best practices development methodologies, preferably Agile Hands on experience in one or more of the following - Data warehousing fundamentals. Sybase database/SQL Server database Experience in various data profiling techniques - Join Analysis, Column Profiling and Multi Object Profiling. Experience of at least one data quality assessment and data cleansing engagements using Informatica data explorer (IDE), Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) suite would be highly desirable Configuration Management tools like SVN and ClearCase Experience or exposure to reporting tools like OBIEE is preferred Exposure to Finance domain, particularly Mutual Funds business.
