Job Role

The Derivatives Pricing team is responsible for cross-product transactional pricing of derivatives within Standard Chartered.

The development team is driven to provide world class technology to support the bank\xe2\x80\x99s Financial Markets business. As a senior developer, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be driving our platform forwards and delivering quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements. Based in Bangalore, you will collaborate in a dynamic global team with fellow technologists, business analysts, project managers and business stakeholders across multiple locations.

Key Attributes

An excellent JavaScript (TypeScript) developer with good software design principles and the ability to write robust code and accompanying test suites.

  • Familiarity with React, npm / yarn and webpack.
  • Ability to write efficient, clear code and be able to articulate what has been implemented and why.
  • Self-starter who can drive / facilitate requirements and development effort.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for the full development lifecycle.
  • Experience working in an agile development environment.
  • A team player, capable of engaging with other teams.
  • Experience in the end-to-end design, development and support of financial markets systems.
  • Experience with real-time (event-driven) architectures.
  • Being a full-stack web developer is a plus.
  • Domain knowledge in e-trading and FX is a plus.
  • Provide second line support.

Our Ideal Candidate

Technical Skills
  • 4 years hands on development with investment banking IT experience
  • Core JavaScript (essential), TypeScript
  • Single page modular application development
  • Understanding of real-time (event-driven) application development
  • Ability to develop latency sensitive systems
  • Experience with git and Atlassian toolset
  • Familiarity with Java is a plus
  • React, npm / yarn and webpack
  • Familiarity with Rx a plus
  • Strong CSS
Functional Skills
  • e-trading technology experience is a plus
  • Investment banking is a strong plus
  • Financial Market domain knowledge
  • Derivatives business is a plus
Soft Skills
  • Fluent in communication (speaking and writing)
