The purpose of the IT Hub is to enable the Business by focusing on business outcomes, delivering fit for business technology solutions which enable business agility and profitable growth. Dimension This role of a Technical Analyst is for ERP (Technical) Capability Center that will focus on defining solutions for Shell business and customers that leverage SAP technology to manage business applications on ERP. It is an individual contributor role (i.e. no direct reports) who will be based out of SBO, Bangalore and will invest significant time working in partnership with Business Analysts, IT and business stakeholders and Process Leads to identify, define and develop solutions to meet business needs or resolve business problems. S/he will have deep knowledge of the IT infrastructure setup and will drive the integration of the new system/platform into Shell IT landscape. The Analyst should have knowledge of given Technical skills and programming languages to build application or technology solutions. Skills needed accountabilities and given in the sections below. The Technical Analyst (Security) role within the ERP (Technical) Capability Center has full accountability for the implementation of security solutions for all GSAP systems specially in Downstream. A key challenge for the Technical Analyst (Security) is being able to implement multiple technical security solutions in areas such as ECC, CRM, APO, BW, HANA, EP, CUA, SCP etc. By the nature of the SAP system, integration between the various functional areas is a crucial element. Working in a virtual environment with key stakeholders, subject matter experts in various parts of the globe is a special challenge that requires a great deal of flexibility and understanding.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science or IT (or equivalent) or business administration or applicable work experience.
  • Candidate must have 7+ years of solid SAP Development, technical solution architecture design experience.
  • Ensure quality of the security solutions by reviewing technical specifications / build when necessary to ensure they meet the security solution and in line with GSOM security design.
  • Role build for security solutions in all GSAP ERP systems for Downstream such as ECC, CRM, APO, BW, HANA, etc.
  • Act as a quality gate – review peer’s coding/developments ensuring adherence to development guidelines, Performance, code quality standards, review existing customizations and functional specification for technical feasibility.
  • Proficient in mentoring resources (staff and contractor), support them in technical challenges in terms of identifying the right technology or architecting the design.
  • Detailed analysis of role modifications to ensure they meet the security solution and the security design.
  • Working on projects as a SAP security focal point.
  • SAP user administration on non-production systems.
  • SAP cutover role assignments on production systems.
  • Working closely with functional experts and business users to get role changes tested.
  • Monitoring and execution of various SOX controls for any security related sections to ensure compliance.
  • Possess innovative mindset to propose effective technical designs/solutions to business problems.
  • Works with internal and external technical resources to implement continuous improvements.
  • Support technical requirement gathering, develop prototypes/PoCs/recommend solutions with limited information from the business, delivery quality Technical specifications and documentation.
  • Candidate should have a strong technical ability in SAP along with stakeholder management skills, great communication skills, and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
IT Knowledge
  • Education: Bachelor or master’s in science, mathematics, engineering or IT area.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP security role build (PFCG).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP user administration (SU01, SU10, CUA).
  • Hands on experience with HANA Security, FIORI Security.
  • Experience in working with stakeholders and leading SAP security projects.
  • Experience with the development of SAP Security design.
  • Functional application knowledge.
  • SOX/GRC Control experience.
  • Experience with different technologies such as ECC6, BW, HANA, S4, SCP
  • Hands-on experience in development of security solutions in native HANA.
  • Strong analytical skill and a good Team player.
  • Possess innovative mindset to propose effective technical designs/solutions to business problems.
Desired (Good to have) IT Skills and Characteristics
  • Experience with SCRUM or other Agile/Lean development methodologies
  • Understanding of standard business processes and data flow within a functional area.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal and external business issues to improve products and services.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to think and work independently.
