Position Purpose

The role holder shall report to the Head Marketing - New Product Development, responsible for market analysis in supporting strategy development of new AIs from PI's research program. This includes analysis and identification of global market segments in strategic crops as target for the respective chemical class or individual active ingredients (A.I.), to support the development/evaluation of the commercial concept including product strategy by crop/country and to help build the go-to-market strategy including the partner identification.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Efficient contribution to establish the commercial strategies for the Business research pipeline by chemical class to develop the individual business case for new active ingredients development projects
  • Remain at the cutting edge of knowledge required for the new a.i. in crop protection through constant updating of personal knowledge and skill-sets using various means
  • Capture and update the data based on new Agricultural market trends and their impact on crop protection innovation strategies.
  • Support securing intellectual property for PI's (patent applications) for commercially viable market segments to achieve freedom-to-operate in viable market segments.
Operational Responsibilities
  • Support Head marketing in all aspect of overarching activities e.g. Indication strategy development, Discovery 2.0
  • Utilize the market intelligence resources within PI and its external providers to help identify marketing segments targeted for new research molecules.
  • Retrieve and process market data of the targeted crop protection segment including the associated product portfolio values by territory, crop and competitors. A key aspect will be to capture the impact of patent expiries and data protection of competing molecules for mixtures and segment overlaps.
  • Analyse, understand and prioritize the chemical components in the respective crop protection strategies at farm level to position new PI solutions in the future market environment.
  • Analyse and help identify out-licensing/collaboration partners versus clear competitors
  • Understand agronomic key aspects of PI's new crop protection solution in context with other technologies to highlight USPs. This includes also market exposure through trial tours, collaborator visits and third-party liaisons.
  • Consolidate all commercial data into project proposals with a clear UVP for PI through developing, manufacturing, launching and commercializing the new products.
  • Consciously collaborate, support and use the strength of PIs crop protection matrix to advance cross-functional teamwork.
  • Document and record all data created in PIs data storage IT systems by project.
  • Continuous market analysis and documentation on major trends, competitor activities
  • Constructive and active participations in technical and functional meetings of the group

Education Qualification
  • MBA in Agribusiness management from a reputed University / Institute from India with excellent academic credentials
  • Graduate in Agriculture sciences
Work Experience

Experience in Agrochemical industry for 3-5 years or related sector
