QAD is looking for a System Engineer. This position will report to the Manager, IT Application Infrastructure.

Conduct a variety of engineering tasks related to the development, operation, and maintenance of complex technology systems. Ensure integration of processes of methodologies to ensure the performance of the total custom built deployment/orchestration system. Our team supports thousands of VMs across multiple clouds for business units in every area of our global company. Proficient with a variety of technical disciplines such as software development, configuration management, database administration, network design, systems administration.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do:

• Using and improving process documentation, the engineer will maintain and configure development and demo environments for R&D, Sales, Partners, and Customer Support staff. Responsibility and accountability will be documented with helpdesk calls.
• Performs maintenance and enhancement of new and/or existing development tools, application service components or product delivery infrastructure, on QAD supported platforms including vmware, Google Cloud and AWS.
• Performs analysis to define requirements for modifications including affected software, related document changes, and test scenarios.
• Configuration management tools and processes will be used to ensure quality product release management.
• The position does involve off-hour time to attend regular global standup meetings, or during IT preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Professional degree: Bachelor\'s degree in Software Engineering, Science, Engineering, or Mathematics or equivalent work experience
• Certification: Google Cloud or AWS certification helpful
• Experience: 2-4 years experience in a software development or DevOps role
• Computer skills:

- Scripting (Python, bash, javascript, DOS batch files, ANT, etc.)Database administration experience (Progress, Oracle, SQL)

- Linux and Windows system administration certification or equivalent experience

- Configuration management experience (Salt, Ansible, Git, Bamboo, etc)

- Issue tracking system experience (JIRA)

- Software installation, configuration, and customization experience

- Public cloud (GCP and AWS) administration and operations experience

- Enterprise Resource Planning concepts nice to have

• Other knowledge / skills:

- Experience with virtualization, configuration management, and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Terraform.

- Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes.

- Experience working in a globally dispersed team.

- Proficient in scripting languages, bash, Python; build tools such as ANT, Maven helpful.

- Familiar with Unix/Linux and Windows Operating Systems. Familiar with database concepts and operations.

- Experience with Elastic, Gitlab and CI/CD concepts
