Job Description


The Senior Manager QA is responsible for the overall Quality of in-house, customer and supplier quality. Working with the supplier directly , guidance and support to them in Process Improvement activities, including effective use of Problem-Solving tools / techniques and statistical analysis. Continuously improve the process Quality performance of the supplier\'s , develop the Quality assurance plans, and implement the process control. Key Roles, Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Provides expert analysis, guidance and support to Production in Process Improvement activities, including effective use of Problem-Solving tools / techniques and statistical analysis. Through the application of APQP, supports the external customers in New Product Introduction. Insures that internal customer needs for Control Systems are met in a timely and functional manner. Optimizes Process Capability on significant characteristics through effective application ofstatistical analysis techniques and training of shop floor people in Problem-Solving. Applies knowledge of Inspection Equipment and Techniques to provide timely data usable for informed decision-making. Utilizes analytical skill sets to implement root cause analysis and provide recommendations for corrective action. Working with the supplier to identify the process failings & drive improvements in Quality Conduct the supplier audit to ensure the supplier process, defect free parts delivered from the supplier. Support SDE for developing the suppliers in order to get good Quality parts. Investigate the supplier parts Quality issues & present the findings, recommend the corrective actions, & implement the same at the supplier end. Communicate the team regarding the corrective action process & Quality tool and techniques. Identify the Quality issues in the supplier end , & ensure that it will not recur again. Recommend the supplier for Qualification /or disqualification based on the Quality performance. Key Competencies: Problem Solving. Decision Quality. Drive for Results. Functional / Technical Skills. Education & Experience: Mechanical / Industrial / Metallurgical Engineering graduate with 18+ years of experience from an Automotive Manufacturing background. Must have knowledge on TQM, Quality Circle, Advanced Quality Planning, Inspection Equipment\'s / Techniques, Continuous Improvement Must have hands-on experience in Problem Solving / 8D, statistical analysis using various QC Tools Must have strong knowledge in GD&T. Must have knowledge on quality processes , APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA. Should be certified internal auditor for IATF 16949 and knowledge in ISO14001 and Customer specific standards. Should have Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Should be able collaborate and work with Cross Functional team. Should have good communication skills. Should have flair for employee relations - should be able to work closely with his team, leading, motivating and challenging them to achieve higher targets.
