What you get to do in this role:

• Build high-quality, clean, scalable, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (code reviews, unit testing, etc.).
• Work closely with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new products and features
• Be a mentor for colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing
• Create technical documentation and communicate technical concepts to both non-technical business users and technical stakeholders
• Resolve vulnerabilities or defects identified in code scans

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• 6+ years of experience with Java or a similar Object-Oriented language
• Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
• Excellent knowledge of the ServiceNow Platform features and its capabilities. (automation/workflows, table structures, Integrations, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
• Advanced experience working with relational databases including development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Exceptional analytical and design skills with the ability to lead in creating complex software architecture.
• Capability to manage multiple projects with material technical risk across teams and processes; may serve as a functional lead or technical owner
• Excellent technical design, problem-solving, debugging skills, and an aptitude for learning new technologies.
• You enjoy coordinating with others to ensure complex engineering projects are done well.

• Experience with Agile software development and knowledge of DevOps best practices

• A keen eye for identifying areas of improvement in existing systems and proposing innovative solutions

Nice to Have Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification
• Experience within the ServiceNow Integrated Risk Management (IRM) product
