Summary The Edison Enterprise Ecosystem's Build & Release Engineering team is seeking a Staff Enterprise Application Engineer for our digital products, engineering tools and productivity platform. In this role, you will help configure, tune and troubleshoot ALM (Application Life Cycle Management) platform and service across multiple cloud vendors and technologies. An ideal candidate will have the experience and passion for building tools and optimizing systems to bring world-class performance and stability to our platforms while allowing our application and product development engineers work at their fastest and most efficient pace.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Design and implement tools and processes to continuously improve our use of ALM (Application Life Cycle Management) , eApprove (Electronic approval application) workflow and integrations.

Strong track record & Administration Experience with ALM, Testing.

Strong Leadership & Engagement with user community and be an evangelist to drive the enforcement of ALM policies and propagate ALM best practices.

Leverage knowledge to improve scale and performance of ALM application.

You will work closely with information security, database administrators, system engineers, network engineers and operational resources to holistically improve operational capabilities, availability, observability and operability of the system.

Create automation tools and scripts that enhance and expand our ALM services capabilities to interface with other tools in the ecosystem

Lead and drive system migration to public and hybrid cloud like AWS.

Responsible for gathering requirements, data and process mapping, creation of scripts/tools to facilitate the migration.

Provide roadmap for ALM application and propose and lead efforts to transition from ALM to Microfocus Octane.

Provide solutions to migration from legacy applications like IBM Doors, RequistePro and Clearquest

Maintain & support existing integrations with other tools like Perforce, Etymo, etc.

Available to quickly respond and resolve critical service outages severely impacting consumers

Establish performance baseline, capacity thresholds, correlate events, and define monitoring/alerting criteria

Develop automated solutions to address potential problems before they result in a service interruption

Provide impact assessment and mitigation plan for changes going into the production environment

Investigate root cause of severe and systemic outages, identify corrective actions and apply across the platform

Develop availability measures that align with consumer experience to accurately assess the usability of crucial services

Analyze failure points in services to model risk level and resolution steps if failure occurs. Assist in driving architecture enhancements into system to mitigate potential failure points

Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs

Demonstrate expert level skill in problem decomposition and ability to navigate through ambiguity

Perform comprehensive operational health checks of the entire services to identify areas of concern and track activities to drive improvements at all levels of the architecture

Work closely with vendor support teams for technical and functional issues,

Interacting directly with other cross-functional support teams for timely resolution of production application issues

Ensure conformance to generic ALM & eApprove workflow Operations support standards / practices

Responsible for internal IT processes like Change Control Board, patch application testing, coordination and communication for outages etc.

Serve as domain and ALM platform expert and drive / be accountable for operational excellence as well as stabilization of Operations

Should be able to guide and direct the operations team utilizing his/her expertise and assisting the team for any roadblocks.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in software development OR Master's degree with 8 years of experience in software development

3+ years of experience in a Microfocus ALM.

3+ years of experience in TechData/Genelogix eApprove workflow for ALM.

2+ years of experience in software integrations.

1+ years of experience in cloud migration.

Ability to manage & monitor application services on Linux platform, NAS, firewalls, scheduled jobs, processes, etc.

Comfortable making decisions to pivot (in conjunction with cross-functional team) and lead the engineering resources to rally behind the business decisions
