Summary



Roles and Responsibilities

• Managing and designing of SCADA, Telemetry, Telecommunication & Power Supply systems of 400/132 / 33 / 11 KV Substations connected with all District Control Centres
• Functioning as the lead Technical Engineer for Power Supply, RTU, Telemetry & Telecommunication Systems.
• Managing Design Office activities with periodic meetings with Project Managers, clients and other departments of the organization.
• Attending technical meetings with clients and contractors.
• Complete Responsibility to prepare Design, FAT, SAT, AS Built Documentations after ensuring compliance with required specifications and client requirements containing Single Line Diagrams, Layouts, Power Supply (48V Chargers, UPS & Battery), Cubicle integration drawings, cable lists, network diagrams etc.
• Take complete ownership of technical activity for assigned projects
• Analyse customer requirements & specifications to propose innovative solutions including architecture proposal, manufacturing & site support.
• Participate with Project manager in customer, end user, contractor and internal meetings
• Total adherence to engineering process, participate to periodic project & gate reviews, make project planning, ensure monitoring and control for the project duration. Including the EHS aspect at various stages.
• Participate in marketing and product presentations and use relevant tools from Central team viz. Customer wise, CCHS etc.
• Manage project document flow and man-days utilization.
• Having input into the tendering process to win the project in the first place.
• Following up Design and files to get approval from Clients
• Managing a Design office handling with multiple projects simultaneously.
• Selecting, or having input into the selection of, specialist subcontractors or other organisations that will help complete the project work
• Advising on the selection of materials used and other aspects of procurement
• Managing processes relating to the project's design to ensure that everything is delivered to schedule and budget, working very closely with project managers, and other key members of the project team
• Following up with cubicle manufacturers and attending FAT procedures.
• Keeping up to date with relevant regulations, codes and legislation

Chairing design meetings, writing reports and giving presentations

• Education / Experience
• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering

• Specific knowledge
• More than 10 years' experience in Telemetry (Chargers, Batteries, RTU)
• Thorough knowledge of AutoCAD, Engineering Base, Microsoft office programs
• Exposure in telecommunication networks for electricity transmission and distribution for data and tele protection services.
• Knowledge on telecom equipment will be added value.
• Technical leadership, communication and presentation skills.

• Business understanding
• Medium to Large Turnkey (or infrastructure projects) for power transmission & distribution.
• Importance of interface management when working with other technical teams.
• Initiatives of Smart Grids and data networks for distribution.
