About the Business Unit:

SAP stands for Systems, Applications and Products in Data Processing. SAP is widely acclaimed ERP package used in large or medium size enterprises to integrate the processes across various functions such as Sales, Purchase, Finance and HR etc. It is a business software package designed to integrate all areas of a business and provide an end to end solutions for financials, manufacturing, logistics and distribution etc.
When it comes to IT, the backbone for our company is an SAP enterprise resource planning system that incorporates the key business functions of the whole organization.

The key business functions includes: All customer orders created for books, journals, digital content and open access to customer payments (receivables), other purchases and payments (payables) and all other financial transactions are carried out by users across the globe in SAP. In a nutshell, SAP system in Springer Nature is a central system which is connected to other springer applications and all direct and indirect transactions are being handled in SAP. For ex. Books purchases by customers on and have a customer order created in SAP.

SAP Basis responsible to keep IT infra up 24x7 365 days of Pune location and do provide global support on SCCM, Exchange, Google and Software compliance.

IT Helpdesk take care the incidents and issues pertaining to laptop and desktops. They are based out at tower-8 and tower-9 on all the floors. Datacentre support manages the core network, Internet, Server, backup and storage. We manage testing, staging, UAT and Live environment of ADIS, ACDC, MBPM, Market Research and other processes as well.

Here at Springer Nature Technology and Publishing Solutions, a team of 70 people are providing services to Springer Nature business in different areas of SAP namely:

• SAP Technical - ABAP/4 Development
• SAP BI (Business Intelligence)
• Salesforce CRM & SAP CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
• SAP PI (Process Integration)
• SAP SD (Sales and Distribution)
• SAP FI/CO (Finance and Controlling)
• SAP BASIS - System Administration

USP of SAP team: We deliver global solutions using cutting edge technology from SAP and offer innovative solutions to Springer Nature business across geographies. Handle small and medium large projects in with Agile methodology to cater to business needs and requirement of Springer Nature business and processes in SAP ECC, PI, CRM, BI, SD, FICO and BASIS areas.

Job Title: SAP BASIS CONSULTANT

Years of experience: 5 to 7 year

Job Location: Tower 9, Magarpatta City, Pune (Working in Hybrid Model)

Education Qualification: B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Sc/ M.Sc/ BCA/ MCA / B.Tech/ M.Tech, Any Graduate

Technical / Functional Competencies:

• Administrating SAP applications (i.e. SAP Basis, Portals, BW, Netweaver, etc)
• Perform SAP client administration
• Apply Kernel upgrade/DB Patch/Support Packs upgrades through all systems using a structured methodology.
• Manage SAP users, authorizations and profiles
• Perform critical routine health check of SAP systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc) / Performance Tuning.
• Configuration of SAP spool management and troubleshooting.
• Setting up of CCMS monitoring
• Mail Configuration for SAP systems using SCOT

Key Responsibilities:

• SAP BASIS experience with administrating SAP applications (i.e. SAP Basis, Portals, BW, Netweaver, etc)

• Maintain multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (Training, Development, Quality and production)

• Use a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance.

• Perform critical routine health check of SAP systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc) / Performance Tuning.

• Ability to perform complete system refresh activities.

• Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required.

• Apply Kernel upgrade/DB Patch/Support Packs upgrades through all systems using a structured methodology.

• CTS configuration.

• Manage SAP users, authorizations and profiles.

• Configure and manage the SAP printing subsystem for all SAP instances.

• Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required.

• Ready to work in Night Shifts / (24X7) Shifts

• Table space reorganization

• Early watch report analysis

• Applying support packages/stacks for ABAP and Java

• Setting up of CCMS monitoring

• Mail Configuration for SAP systems using SCOT

• Java administration using Config Tool, Visual Admin & NWA

• Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces.
