Summary of the Position (the big picture): The Production Line Supervisor is responsible for achieving production targets and responsible for operations of the production line including deployment of manpower, line supervision and resolving issues related to production / Quality and Safety. Additionally, the role holder may also take up special projects for improvement activities in aspects of improving Safety, Productivity, Delivery and Quality KPI\'s. What is the position value proposition and how will this role influence the organization Responsible to achieve production targets as per plan. Ensure smooth operations of the production process in shift. Ensure adherence to production SOP\'s, quality and safety standards. Participate and contribute to improvement activities to meet targets in cost, quality and delivery involving cross functional interactions / teams Supervise blue-collar associates in the production line. What obstacles, negative circumstances will the incumbent need to solve Low levels of shop productivity Process violations in manufacturing Acceptance of new methods in shop floor Sustenance of processes to have high Right first time Lack of awareness of technology, systems and processes What are the major objectives, projects and improvements that need to be made Preparation of Shift plan based on production plan. Man resource allocation and production documentation compliance Conduct first level audits / checks of product quality to ensure product compliance Involve and contribute to analysis of issues related to in process rejections and rework (FIR / RCA / CAPA / Resolution) Contribute to improvement studies, analysis as part of Cross Functional Team (CFT) What are the top two to three immediate objectives Identify and address the current bottlenecks in achieving productivity goals Improve productivity without compromising Quality and Safety Standards Reducing lead time of manufacturing in the shop floor Instill continuous improvement culture Resolve conflicts and address grievances arising within the team and across teams What will top talent do with their education, technical knowledge and experience Education Requirements - Mechanical/ Industrial Engineering graduate Technical Requirements - Exposure to Heavy/Light Fabrication, Weld technology, Lean Manufacturing. Experience Requirements Must have 3-5 years\' experience in Heavy/Light fabrication. Must have exposure in implementation of Lean principles Experience working in continuous improvement culture. Must have experience in managing blue-collar associates. Experience working in unionized culture would be added advantage. Excellent oral and written communication skills - able to communicate at all levels of the organization.
