DESCRIPTION Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) is seeking a highly skilled and a motivated team player to be part of the dynamic ROC team which supports NA and EU Surface Transportation Operations. The Surface Transportation Operations team addresses disruptions in the Middle Mile network, supporting drivers and carriers faced with unexpected events (poor weather, road closures, unexpected surges in volume, mechanical breakdowns, etc.) to allow them to deliver packages safely and on time. As a Sr. Program Manager, you will work as a strategic advisor to the internal and external stakeholders on demand planning while driving the adoption and engagement on the long-term capacity decisions. This role requires you to think big, dive deep and showcase your people management and program management skills. You must be highly analytical, able to work effectively in a matrix organization, and have the ability to break complex problems down into steps that drive product development at Amazon speed. You will lead a diverse team across various levels and capabilities to drive results for our Transportation Operations in NA and EU. You will bring innovation, passionate voice, and an ability to prioritize and execute on a fast-moving set of strategic priorities. You will be responsible for developing long term OP planning, 3YP (three-year vision plans) and strategic roadmaps for volume forecasting and resource planning. An ideal candidate has a background in transportation and excellent leadership and management skills. He/she has the ability to pull and analyze data with ease, drive process improvements, standardize our processes and eliminate the root cause of defects within the current systems, and a proven track record of reducing the occurrence of problems due to proactive root cause elimination. Key job responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: . Lead a planning team to support ROC operational sites through long term operational planning, working closely with finance partners and operations leaders to translate long term volume projections into HC need . Holding operations leaders accountable for deviation from OP/R&O goals on productivity, defect reductions, operations metrics, etc. . Interface and engage with cross-functional stakeholders and Sr leadership to define strategy, operationalize the planning to ensure the efficient delivery and customer satisfaction . Define metrics, goals, and strategic direction across functional area(s) in support of overall group vision. . Hires, coaches effectively and provides feedback to direct reports to help develop talent and support career development . Drives within the team the ability to be fungible and deal with ambiguity while planning for new customer/programs. . Demonstrates the ability to adopt new technology and adapt to widely varying customer requirements . Ability to pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed. . Must be able to quickly understand the business impact of the trends and make decisions based on available data. . Must be able to systematically escalate problems or variance in the information and data to the relevant owners and teams and follow through on the resolutions to ensure they are delivered. . Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed. . Excellent communication, both verbal and written as you will be required to create a narrative outlining your weekly findings and the variances to goals, and present these finding in a review forum We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Hyderabad, TS, IND BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of program or project management experience - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements - 5+ years of managing stakeholders in cross-functional project experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master\'s degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field - Data management & data quality control experience with experience pulling and analyzing large sets of data in order to drive improvements and make business decisions
