Job Description


JOB PURPOSE (JOB SUMMARY): This position has a key role in ensuring the success of the STS Operational Risk Management program by working closely with the Investment Services, Transfer Agency and Corporate Services teams within the larger STS organization to execute the risk management and oversight functions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Assist in the implementation of the operational risk & control framework within designated STS business units to enhance the firm’s second line of defense guided by Invesco’s Enterprise Risk Framework
  • Support the RCSA activities of designated STS business units
  • Support the identification, measurement, escalation, reporting, and tracking of incidents across designated STS business units in accordance with the global policies
  • Facilitate more complex incident root cause analysis as required/beneficial to prevent recurrence
  • Using data outputs including, but not limited to incidents, RCSA/CSA population, KRI’s and MI/volume metrics, identifies risk trends and systemic/emerging risks within designated business units
  • Utilize technical expertise to process, design and visually present data analysis to designated business units to better manage risk
  • Monitor and track control gaps, as well as preventative measures identified by STS business units and provides follow up as needed
  • Assist in the development, execution, and monitoring of the STS Risk Escalation Policy
  • Assist in the development and ongoing support of the STS Incident Management tool
  • Proactively respond to operational risk related inquiries and requests from STS business units demonstrating:
    • A solid understanding of operational risk policy, procedures and data
    • Sufficient knowledge of the STS business units while building areas of specific knowledge and expertise over time
    • Aptitude, knowledge and willingness to engage with STS business units to provide risk related guidance and insights (i.e., “risk advisory services”)
  • Identify, recommend and support risk related continuous improvement initiatives and participate in planning for future enhancements.
  • Leverage and champion the use of data, technology and collaboration tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the global Operational Risk team
  • Support the Third-Party Risk and Program Risk functions as needed
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices to leverage for internal client benefit
EDUCATION:
  • Undergraduate degree in Risk Management, Finance, Information Systems or related degrees; advanced degree/graduate level studies beneficial.
WORK EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:
  • 5 or more years of relevant work experience within any of the following: operations management, operational risk, technology risk, cyber risk, compliance, corporate governance, regulation, external/internal audit, and/or asset management industry experience.
  • Experience working with a diverse group of stakeholders and employees at all levels of the organization
  • Solid understanding of the asset management industry and how the business operates
  • Strong technology skills including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Familiarity with data analytics and SQL
