M ANAGER - T ECHNICAL Job Title : Sr.Manager/AGM - PD Technical Grade : M1 (1) Department : Product development Job Location : Unit-1 Reports to : DGM-Technical Direct Reports: 5 Indirect Reports : 10 Job Purpose: To ensure that the final garment satisfies all (a) consumer requirements in terms of fit &; comfort and (b) is technically feasible for bulk production and meets all necessary efficiencies. In the product development process, give sound technical advice, support and knowledge to the Product Development team in all three areas (a) pattern design &; development (b) sewing/construction (c) ensure that all fabric, elastic and threads are fit for purpose. Ensure the smooth technical transfer of information within the Product Development Team on new products and answer all technical related inquiries on the same. To take ownership of the planning and execution of the sampling &; pattern team, and providing leadership to ensure RFT (Right First Time) and OTIF (On Time in Full) delivery Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Activities &; Deliverables 1 Technical Skills Provide knowledge, support, expertise and advice into the pattern design &; development process to ensure that the garments meet the fit requirements of our target consumer. Once received the fit trial comments, immediately will be circulated to Pattern master, Sampling coordinator, Supervisor and QA officer. Giving technical advice to pattern masters to make new development patterns at the right time. After received first proto fit comments, sitting with pattern masters and making corrections in patterns according to the comments Ensure to maintain a clear BLOCK reference to ensure fit consistencyImproving existing styles patterns shapes for comfort fit Doing necessary modifications in existing style patterns with our superior\'s approval, for every season to improve best fit and quality Giving technical advice to sampling supervisor to make perfect Samples Giving instructions to use type of machine &; easy way to stitch the garments for production friendly. Also advising how to achieve the sample quality by operator\'s handling Monitoring all Pre- production processes in the technical department Organizing to make style file with patterns from the first proto stage itself. All related mails, comments, amendments, SMV &; consumption copies and adequate quality reports are filed in the same folder. Communicating with IE dept for OB and proto cost regarding. Receiving fabric &; all raw materials details from merchandisers and giving feedback about them characteristics. Monitoring and follow up for various type of sample process steps: proto, size set, wearer trials, red seal, PP sample &; GSS Arranging final fabric consumption, Nested pattern, red seal samples and Tech packs for signature process at PP meeting stage. And submitting to the PD head 2 Documentation Ensuring all patterns and tech packs records are complete and accurate. Ensure that they have all relevant information. Ensure they are maintained properly with records of dates, renewal, storage and retrieval Maintain technical manuals 4 PLM (Techpack) Updating PLM from the proto stage through to approval After every stage of sample process and fit comments, Finalizing measurement chart and updating in PLM Ensuring Operation break down is correct: type of threads to be used and where, which type of needle and size to be used, Pressure foot, special attachments/device, binding input width and output width, number of plies, stitch gauge, seam margin and stitch per centimeter. Special instructions: For cutting: fabric relaxation instruction and grain line direction, fabric direction for spreading. For sewing: Critical operation identification, requirements and instructions to achieve quality parameters and productivity. Machine setting: Heat transfer/Moulding machine temperature, pressure &; seconds, 5 Innovation Improve efficiency and quality and keep up-to date on production standards Need to develop full fledge research and development department which involves testing of garment/fabric both, physical and chemical. 6 Communication Ensure smooth communication and alignment throughout the team at all times, both internal and external Working Contact and Participation (Internal and External): 1 PD-head Receiving new style development requirements, comments of developed product, suggestions to improve fit and best appearance. also getting advises to improve team build-up 2 Sr. Manager- PD tech Discussing and getting ideas to improve sewing quality. Conducting meeting with team members for everyday activities and on-time sample delivery. 3 Merchandisers Receiving sample request indents, Fabric consumption request &; SMV request IOMs. Forwarding all consumptions &; SMV for costing purpose at proto stage and final consumptions at PP stage. Also giving all technical related information to update in their records. All type of samples is submitted to them on time as per planned 4 Designers Giving sewing/construction details in the image to design detail sketch. Also How to measure points and codes are indicated in separate image to make HTM image 5 Production manager\'s/Quality executives (Factory) While doing production, the PM or QA if have any doubts in operations sequence, machine setting, or method of sewing they will contact me and immediately it will be clarified to proceed production without interruption 6 Industrial engineers Meeting and comparing them OB with tech team OB to reduce unwanted operations or add operation to make better quality accordingly Giving details of binding input and folder width for prepare binding fabric consumption IOM 7 Centralized CAD Technician Sharing patterns &; pattern version number to calculate fabric Consumption. Communicating for consumption re-correction if I find any error in the consumption Person Specifications: Education Degree related to Textile , engineering background, excellent knowledge in Adobe photoshop , Ms Excel and Word. Years of Experience 13+ Years Specialized Knowledge Knowledge in print / Wash and embroidery required.
