Mission (Why does this role exist?) and Scope (About the Job)
We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager / Director , Embedded Software for EV Charging to lead the development of our embedded software solutions for electric vehicle (EV) charging systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software development, a deep understanding of EV charging technologies, and experience managing teams of software engineers. The Senior Manager, Embedded Software for EV Charging will be responsible for defining software requirements, leading the design and implementation of software solutions, and ensuring that all software solutions meet high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities and Outcomes (What the Person needs to accomplish in the role ? )
Lead the development of embedded software and firmware solutions for EV charging systems, including defining software requirements, leading the design and implementation of software solutions, and ensuring that all software solutions meet high quality standards.- Manage a team of software engineers, including providing technical guidance and mentorship, prioritizing tasks and professional development
- Develop and maintain the software development roadmap for our EV charging systems
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure that software meets customer needs
- Ensure the quality and reliability of the software through rigorous testing and debugging processes
- Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in the EV charging industry, and recommend new technologies and methodologies as appropriate
- Manage the software development budget and timelines, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget
- Foster a culture of innovation, creativity, and collaboration within the engineering team.
Qualifications: Education , Competencies ( Knowledge , Skills & Behaviour) and Experience
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field- At least 12 years of experience in embedded software development, with 5 years of experience leading teams for embedded software and firmware
- Strong experience with real-time operating systems and embedded systems programming languages (C, C++, Python, NodeJs)
- Experience with containerized applications, BSP and device drivers on embedded Linux platform.
- Knowledge of the software development process, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and debugging
- Experience with electric vehicle charging systems, power electronics, and related protocols (e.g., CAN, OCPP, MQTT, ISO-15118) is a plus
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
