Responsible for processing incoming customer and employee garnishments including, but not limited to, child support orders, tax levies, and bankruptcies. Respond to third party subpoenas served upon the MetLife Enterprise seeking documents and, in some instances, testimony.
Essential Functions
Processing of garnishments require reviewing garnishment mail/inbox,
Data Entry, Garnishment law research, Filing appropriate information answers,
Maintenance of garnishment files, and Remittance of funds to creditors and government agencies.
Subpoena work includes negotiating due dates, scope of the subpoena, document review, appearance of employees and agents as third parties for deposition or trial testimony
Document production.
Primary Internal Interactions
AM for the purpose of reporting performance, escalation handling, clarifying concerns, and seeking feedback and support as well as associate development.
Manager for the purpose of settling issues left unresolved by the AM and monthly evaluation of performance.
Primary External Interactions
Written & Verbal interactions with Courts, Attorneys, Employees, LOB and other outside entities.
Written & Verbal interactions with Stateside Subject Matter Experts for the purpose of seeking clarifications/ missing information.
Written & Verbal interactions with Stateside Process Manager for the purpose for reporting / consultations etc.
Knowledge of Insurance principles in relation to the US Insurance industry

Bachelor’s degree in Law or diploma in Law with a minimum of 15 years of education.
