SUMMARY: The Sr. Financial Analyst provides decision support by analyzing and interpreting financial aspects of real estate transactions using standard financial models, assists in periodic and annual variance analysis and planning, as well as other ad hoc financial analysis to support the overall strategic and operating plans of Advance Auto Parts. Success in this role will require strong analytical skills, effective communication skills, innovative thinking, and a passion for delivering results. The successful candidate will have experience working with broader teams towards a common objective under specific and agreed-upon timeframes. Building relationships will be critical to this role as will the ability to execute your responsibilities well while thoughtfully challenging the status quo. Additionally, an ability to work with systems and analytical tools to identify opportunities for efficiency and to deliver results will allow for maximum effectiveness in the role. This role will also be heavily involved working with functional leaders across the organization, specifically within the Real Estate discipline, and helping to partner to solve their business challenges. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Utilize financial models to evaluate key real estate decisions, including new store development, relocations or expansions of existing stores, etc. Update model assumptions and structure based on evolving business needs and optimal information required by the individuals making approval decisions. Assist in periodic forecasting by soliciting input from business partners, summarizing projected spend, and comparing to planned and approved spending by department and project category. Work closely with Accounting and key business partners to understand and reconcile variances, as well as update forecasts as needed. Respond to requests from business partners by providing data, reports, and/or financially supported recommendations. Utilize PBCS and other tools to collect financial data, synthe the information, and provide reports and summaries that will drive business performance. Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for period reporting and other key meetings and communications with company management. Establish, foster, and maintain working relationships with peers and management within the Finance function, as well as key business partners in Real Estate and all other lines of the business. Ability to model financials with a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts. Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint and Word and possess the desire and ability to learn automated data analysis tools and techniques. Experience with PBCS and Power BI strongly preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and oral and written communication skills. Ability to collect data, perform proforma P&L and other financial analysis, and draw valid conclusions and recommendations based on the analysis. Working knowledge of real estate transactions and key financial returns (Discounted Cash Flow, IRR, etc) preferred. Attention to detail, with a focus on quality and accuracy are critical to the role. Leadership Qualifications include the ability to thoughtfully challenge existing processes, metrics, and common assumptions to help evolve the collective knowledgebase. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related required (Advanced Degrees such as an MBA or cross specialization with a technical specialty is a plus) 3-5 years of experience in a Finance or Business field California Residents click below for Privacy Notice:
