Role Specification Title of Role holder Engineer - Roll Forming Department for which this role is required Production - Roll Forming Company/SBU for which this role is required Metal Fabrication-(Thenepalli) Mangal Industires Ltd Purpose of this Role 1)Roll Form Engineer is responsible for overseeing operations of the roll forming machines. In addition to, assisting in setting up tools, dies, and equipment for production of material as specified by work orders, drawings and SOPs, and loading and unloading parts on roll machines. 2)The main purpose of the position is to operate, adjust, and set-up assigned mill lines independently while meeting production, quality and safety requirements at a 90% average productivity. This process involves loading and setting up steel coils, and make necessary adjustments for passing steel strip through roll forms. The individual will operate machinery, bundle pieces, transfer finished products onto wagons, and monitor the roll forming operation. 3)The individual should be able to identify immediate quality problems by performing scheduled sampling as well as performing operator checks as per quality procedures and required product standards. The individual is expected to manually handle finished products final. The individual is also responsible for compliance with safety acts and regulations. Group HSE Production In Charge: K.Jagadeswara Prasad Plant Head : D.S.N.M.Rao EXTERNAL AGENCIES Reporting to Suppliers & Customers K J Prasad (5000186) Responsibilities of this role 1.Maintains setup charts for all sets of roll form tooling. 2.Performs tooling setup and line changeover on roll form machine to produce roll form cross sections to print specifications . 3.Performs setup/equipment adjustments as necessary to maintain dimensional tolerances of cross sections being produced. 4.Performs routine/scheduled maintenance on all roll form line equipment,keeping a log of all maintenance performed. 5.Trains other employees in basic roll form operation and support function. 6.Sets up and operates machines to produce specified components. Makes minor machine adjustments to insure satisfactory production. 7.Load steel coil onto un-coilers using crane once trained and certified. Tighten un-coiler and cut straps on the coil. Guide the steel into processing areas (rolls) using jogging controls. Activate machine using control panel by selecting the order type, and clear any jam-ups 8. Set up or adjust rolls and conduct quality inspection to check product conformance. 9.Complete all required quality documents, report issues as required . 10.Gather products, strap into bundles, place bundles on wagon and apply identification . 11.Prepare all required production and safety related reports and forward to the top mangement. 12.Develop and implement operating methods and procedures to improve quality, eliminate waste and improve employee productivity. 13. To ensure all displays in shop floor (work instructions, OCP\'s, MSDS, safety related & 5 S related documents) 14.Motivating the employess in the production team to participate in Suggestion scheme,QCC & Kaizens . 15 To update documents related ISO, IMS audits and lead the audit on ISO, IMS for production department and close any non conformity rised. Drawing & Roll forming Tools handling and maintenance knowledge Years of experience Required for this role Minimum Exp. : 3-5 years Desirable Exp. : 3 years or more Type of Experience required for this role Related to Roll forming operation with different capacity machines, coil feeder and straightner operation etc. Competencies required for this role Knowledge Knowledge on product inspection, instruments usage and quality requirements of Roll forming products.
