Position Title: Senior Engineer, Engineering Solutions Function/Group: Engineering Country: India Location: Mumbai (Powai) Recommended Level: 50 Job Type: Full time Role Reports to: Manager Engineering Solutions, India Geographical Scope of the Role - Location: US/UK/Other International Percentage of travel required: 10-20% (Business Requirements) Job Overview 40% of Time Technical Problem Solving: - Analyze cost and performance data, diagnose root cause of 4M losses and make recommendations to improve system, equipment and material requirements - Be proficient in the use of Continuous Improvement tools such as Loss Tree Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Why-Why Analysis, Daily Management Systems - Understand and leverage reliability metrics, system planning and cost tracking systems - Collaborate with plant and corporate engineering teams for diagnosis, solution design and creating recommendation report and for implementation support. - Engineering Inventory Management- Develop strategy and Identify critical spares and propose min-max stock level while optimizing costs. - Facilitate Breakdown Elimination by providing solutions for repetitive/chronic/sporadic problems. - Developing knowledge base on key GMI technologies covering both process and equipment\'s Implement Relevant Recommendations: Reliability Engineering: - Develop maintenance plans: apply technology knowledge such as Lubrication, Fasteners, Hydraulics as well as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles - Identify essential spare parts to be stocked to bring down repair time at lowest inventory cost - Demonstrate impact of work delivered on equipment uptime and maintenance cost - Analyze and engage to optimize storeroom inventory cost sustainably - 40% of Time Platform POC - Lead platform engagement independently for multiple plants - Develop knowledge base on platform processes, systems and technologies - Cross-deploy learnings in the platform - Engage and manage platform stakeholder relations - Ideate/Lead/Facilitate platform improvement projects and ensures implementation. - Explore opportunities for continuous ES engagement with platform plants - Own and deliver PMA/project work as per the timelines and with required quality levels. - Delegate tasks to PMA support team and maintain healthy work pipeline. - Define maintenance strategy for the plant and facilitate implementation. 20% of Time Perform as a Subject Matter Expert - Coach and mentor other engineers on the team as well as plant employees - Work effectively in a cross-cultural virtual team using influence and collaboration - Create, maintain and adhere to process documentation and strive for continuous improvement - Take self-initiative to learn about GMI systems, processes, technologies and Supply Chain - Perform other duties as assigned - Lead with Safety. - Live by championship values and recognize others who demonstrate the same. Desired Profile Education Minimum Degree Requirements: Bachelors Preferred Degree Requirements: Bachelors Preferred Major Area of Study: - Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering in any one: Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation Required Professional Certifications: Any relevant Certification in Reliability/Controls Preferred Professional Certifications: Experience Minimum years of related experience required: 5 years Preferred years of related experience:7-8 years Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed Example: -Demonstrated inventory management, customer service, and production forecasting skills -Can prioritize and complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines - Demonstrated experience in the Reliability or Controls and Systems Engineering domain on the Shop Floor - Can prioritize and complete multiple tasks on tight deadlines - In depth understanding of Engineering Project Management Framework - Good Communication skills Competencies/Behaviors required for job -Energizes and develops people -Anticipates market trends that will impact competitive advantage - Leads Innovation: Identify and recommend opportunities, solutions and need for change. Additional Information - This position reports to the Engineering Management with the Supply Chain Division. Hours of operation are 11 AM to 8 PM Mumbai time (Monday to Friday) with the ability to flex hours as the job demands. - In performing these accountabilities, the incumbent must develop and maintain an effective working relationship with GMI employees at all levels across the company locations. - The Job involves travel to worldwide plants on short term basis depending on business requirements.
