The GE Gas Power Data and Analytics team helps solve our customers' toughest challenges by leveraging data and analytics. The Sr Data & Information Architect will work as part of the Enterprise Data Architecture team to create state-of-the-art data and analytics driven solutions from the Power Data Lake, working with specific focus on Quality and EHS domain to drive business outcomes. This position will work on multiple Data & Information projects as a project leader or internal consultant
As a Sr Data & Information Architect you will be part of a cross-disciplinary team working on development projects, involving large, complex data sets. These teams typically include Data Architects, Data Engineers, Product Managers and end users, working in concert with Platform and Data Governance team. Potential areas for development could include any data set within the Power Data Lake or beyond but with a focus on delivering outcomes for the EHS and Quality domains In this role you will
Participate in the data domain technical and business discussions and help define future architecture direction
Assist in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap, design pattern, and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
Gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project level.
Assist in defining data architecture standards and perform routine architecture reviews
Develop logical and physical data models with focus on enabling Self Service
Perform hands-on execution of proof-of-concepts and complex requirements
Participate in the Data Governance Council.
Deliver data in a service-oriented architecture with reusable components
Research and evaluate emerging data technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities.
Collaborate across multiple teams including platform, data governance, Business stakeholders to deliver data products, reduce technical debt , ensure data compliance needs around PII, GDPR and Sox reporting
Coach and mentor team members.
Education Qualification For roles outside USA:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 4 years of technical experience in Data Architecture/Data Analytics
Technical Expertise:
Translate analytics problems into data requirements
Understand logical and physical data models, big data storage architecture, data modeling methodologies, metadata management, master data management, data lineage & data profiling
Understand & build in optimal manner extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, Talend and AWS Services.
Understand the technology landscape, keep up to date on current technology trends and new technology, bring new ideas to the team
Exposure to Python, Spark is desirable
Understanding of basic Data Science and Machine Learning concepts and the integration of ML model outputs into data pipeline is an added advantage
