Position Summary:

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing supplier relationships, cost reduction and supply strategy to ensure effective sourcing of their responsible area which includes Cables, Electrical components like MCB, RCCB ,electrical terminals etc.The Sourcing Lead is expected to act as a primary escalation point within for their assigned supplier portfolio to resolve operational issues. This varied and hands-on role requires energy, flexibility and an entrepreneurial approach to solving supply problems.
Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain supply strategy for Electronics commodity aligned to business and supply chain requirements based on analysis of available data. Reporting on progress.
  • Able to generate significant cost reduction though coordination with external and internal stakeholders (engineering, planning, materials, site leadership team).
  • Act as focal point and subject matter expert in market for assigned commodities.
  • Achieves high quality and productivity standards by adhering to standard work.
  • Demonstrating competence, proactivity and leadership in implementing procurement best practice (e.g. 5S, PFEP, POH, KPI, SRM etc.) in the context of Dover processes and the Microsoft Dynamics ERP system.
  • Negotiating and managing value-add supply chain contracts within commodity portfolio.
  • Development and execution of initiatives relating to business continuous improvement projects
  • Identifying and mitigating supply chain risk.
  • Escalation point to remediate major supply chain issues impacting business operations.
  • Support for projects, relating to local, regional and global corporate initiatives
  • Travel to supplier locations as required.

Candidate Profile:

  • Detail and Process orientation.
  • Familiar with technical product specifications and the ability to identify sources of supply capable of providing them.
  • Familiar with supply contracting principals and tendering processes.
  • Ability to use data to support excellent decision making through analysis.
  • Self-directed time management skills with the ability to prioritise in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrates full accountability and ownership for all aspects of assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Able to coach and mentor team members.
  • Persistence in problem solving approach with ability to deliver solutions that address the issue effectively.
  • Confident and familiar with the requirements for successful negotiation.
  • Leading and influencing decision making in stakeholder departments \xe2\x80\x93 effective communication.
  • Comfortable in presenting information in a variety of formats to senior management
  • Willingness and ability to engage with stakeholders (engineering, marketing, sales, senior management) to understand Dover\xe2\x80\x99s products and customer requirements and ensure they are reflected in our supply chain.

Candidate Experience and Qualifications:

  • BE Electronics with Minimum of three years working in a similar role, showing consistent career progression to current level, preferably within an engineering or high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience of developing and deploying Electronics commodity strategies.
