About the Opportunity

Avaya Carrier Services builds and runs cloud-native services that integrate Avaya cloud offers to telecom carriers across the globe.

Software engineering is responsible for developing highly available, horizontally scalable cloud-based web applications. This position will work in a cross-functional team together with CloudOps engineers and quality assurance engineers to optimize performance and security on our solutions, and to assist incident management in the production environments.

To be successful in this role you will embody a continuous improvement / validated learning mindset and will have had recent experience building, deploying, and running highly available cloud-native services.

About the Responsibility

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve cloud applications.
• Optimize for scale, supporting millions of users.
• Emphasis on test automation and understands the importance of automated tests in a solution.
• Collaborate with other development teams.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Implementation of a robust set of microservices and APIs.
• Deliver high quality software, on time following defined processes.
• Continuously improve on metrics, quality.
• Learn and promote new technologies within the team.

About the Requirement

• Proficient in Go Lang Web Applications.
• Proficient with development of REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Microservices Architecture
• Knowledge of popular authentication mechanisms: OAuth2/OpenID Connect/JWT
• Experience analyzing logs, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with any of the big cloud providers: Google Cloud, Azure.
• Hands-on experience on Kubernetes, Docker
• Experience with build automation tools like Jenkins, Bamboo or Gitlab
• Experience with source control tools like Bitbucket, GitHub
• Conceptually understand the following: Load balancer, Auto Scaler
• Know how to horizontally scale web applications to increase concurrency level to multi-million end users

Skills and Competencies

• Fluent English speaker
• Proficient in cloud computing (GCP experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of multi-region environments and global connectivity requirements
• Strong understanding or Cloud scaling, and fault tolerant systems
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure components (e.g., routers, load balancers, compute, storage, and networks)
• Microservices and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of security/compliance requirements
• Go Lang / Java
• Angular / React
• Redis or other caching technologies
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
