Details
1. Hardware & Networking a. Work with hot swappable devices b. Configure network link aggregation (teaming or IP Multipathing), Configure SCSI, FSCSI, Ethernet, TCPIP, c. Configure redundant hardware with respect to disk, network adapters. d. Run hardware diagnose tools and identify faulty devices, e. Replace FC Adapters f. Configure disk multipathing g. Recommend, configure best RAID for different environments(keeping performance and high availability as preference). 2. OS Administration a. Upgrade the device drivers. b. Decipher the penetration test results c. Install and configure roles and features, d. Analyse and test OS patches before they get rolled out to production. e. Create OS gold images (Clone)based on the project needs 3. Clustering a. Design and implement / configure high available cluster(such as two node cluster) and resources b. Configure cluster events, and look at event logs, configure Quorum disk c. Configure cluster heartbeat sensitivities d. Troubleshoot fallover and ballback issues, schedule planned and unplanned downtimes e. Create operating documents procedures for repeated cluster administration tasks. 4. Virtualization a. Estimate the snap shot size and datastore/storage pool/virtual space or vdisks size based on the server usage and growth capacity b. Storage vmotion, do dump analysis c. Configure storage and network policies in console d. Configure advanced virtualization settings, Analyse virtual machines, Hypervisor performance using command line. e. Take backup and restoration of Hypervisor Configuration. 5. Backup and Disaster Recovery a. Troubleshoot backup failures b. Restore backups (file, directory, over the LAN/WAN, System backup (such as system state/Operating System Image backup and restoration using the System Image clones) 6. Storage a. Identify if FC card attached to switch properly b. Identify faulty connectivities between Server FC adapters and Storage Switch c. Diagnose Storage Drive performance with OS native commands 7. Unix User Management a. Install, configure NFS server, remote procedure calls, portmap, configure NFS start and stop scripts b. Configure security, host, root access etc., c. Configure DNS, named.conf file, DNS and NIS administration, and troubleshooting d. Create repository & install packages using repos. e. Create and configure NFS Shares on cluster f. Mounting shares on clients g. Check NFS performance issues using inbuilt or third party tools h. Troubleshoot NIS binding related issues Technical Skills: a.
