Yara Fertilizers India Pvt Ltd is a 100% subsidiary of Yara International ASA. Yara has supplied fertilizers as well as fertilizer raw materials to the Indian market for over two decades. Yara India has continuously strengthened its footprint in Western and Southern India by providing Crop nutrition solutions with combination of Premium products and Knowledge through unique Farmer centric approach.

Yara's philosophy is to connect with thousands of farmers at the grass root level and has a strong commitment to serving the agriculture sector in India, thereby improving the livelihood of Indian farmer. To leverage on this and to expand into the northern & eastern geographies of India, Yara acquired Tata Chemicals' 1.2 MN MT Urea plant in UP, Northern India. With this acquisition Yara India's scale of operation has grown significantly.

Roles and Responsibilities

He/ She is the overall in-charge of all activities related to HR Department and reports to Plant Manager. He/ She will oversee, administer, and review various HR processes at the site.

The key responsibilities related to HR department include:

Managerial role

  • Contributes to the respective business agenda in alignment with global/regional business strategy.
  • Provides key business insights to help shape site relevant people strategy.
  • Applies people strategy based on site specifics and respective business priorities.
  • Implementation and review of personnel / HR policies of the site.
  • Advising line managers on promotion, job rotation and transfer of the employees.
  • Advising line managers on disciplinary matters /action.
Operational role
  • Key resource person for recruitment, selection, and placement of personnel.
  • Maintain high level for morale and employee engagement in the site
  • Ensure compliances are met
  • Roll out L&D intervention and training programs
  • Deploy PMS process effectively, timely and complete goal setting, effective feedback, and appraisals
  • Put in place engagement and communication program
  • Oversee effective on boarding of new employees and provide them with a rich employee experience
  • Comply with company systems (SAP) fully and timely and controls
  • Ensure complete, accurate and up to date information in SAP
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders and leverage them for the legitimate interests of the company
People related role
  • Define the rules & regulation for the conduct of the employee
  • Partners with the business to identify critical roles and build an external talent pipeline.
  • Help employees in management of change.
  • To update & track various actionable points coming out from Communication Meets, Employee Engagement Survey findings and other Employee Feedback Sessions
  • Clarification on various issues raised by employees from time to time on benefits etc.
  • Facilitate initiatives for training need identification and building requisite skills & competencies through systematic training & skill-upgradation initiatives for the team
  • Develop performance metrics, monitor performance against those metrics and implement process improvement initiatives
  • Recognize & reward excellent performers & affirm key contributions of employees toward the achievement of goals & objectives of the team
  • Drives cultural agenda by tailoring global/ regional/ country enablers to region specific cultural elements.

Education Qualification: Master's degree in business administration (Specialization-HR)
