Role: ServiceNow Release Manager

Location: Kharadi, Pune

Role Overview:

In this role, you will lead Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases for the ServiceNow application. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, Version patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects and Programs.

You will be implementing and handling release processes for code through development, test, and production environments. The Release Manager Job function-works closely with all participants in software development projects and is encouraging of developers and testers as they set up their build dev/test environments.

Responsibilities:

• Plan the release windows and cycles
• Handle risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
• Measure and observe progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that go above and beyond expectations
• Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates
• Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes
• Handle relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations
• Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Breakthrough Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
• Produce Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans
• Weekly Release Reporting
• Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as the need arises
• Prepare, plan and handle all release activities
• Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
• Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
• Lead and co-ordinate the release activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
• Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
• Maintains a release repository and handles key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists

Required Skills & Experience

Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

Min 8 + years of relevant experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis, Release management or development of ServiceNow Applications.

4+ years of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid grasp of project management principles preferred)

Experience in Planning & Executing whole lifecycle in Release & Deployment, Updates, Service Requests, etc. is preferred.

Experience in working with team of developers, testers, administrators etc.

Expertise in good stakeholder management.

Licenses/ Certifications: ITLT v3 Foundation preferred.

Competences:

Formal training in Agile project management practices preferred

Critical knowledge of software development lifecycle

Demonstrable ability to coordinate multi-functional work teams toward task completion

Validated effective leadership and analytical skills

Sophisticated written and verbal communication skills are a must

Travel Requirements: Occasional business travels requested.
