An opportunity has arisen in the Wire and Cable (W&C) Team for a highly motivated individual to take responsibility for CRU\xe2\x80\x99s fibre optic and metallic W&C work across South Asia and the Middle East. The successful candidate will have previous experience of creating high-quality analysis within the Metals sector, coupled with the ability to identify, build, and maintain client relationships.

Possessing a clear understanding of the current W&C market, identifying future trends that will impact the sector and being able to convey these to customers are key to the role. To achieve this, the successful candidate must be comfortable structuring primary research and analysis activities within the W&C space.
Knowledge, Data Analysis and Modelling

• Take responsibility for fibre optic and metallic W&C production and demand data \xe2\x80\x93 historical and forecast \xe2\x80\x93 for the South Asia and Middle East region.

• Continuously develop a deep understanding of the W&C industry and its application/usage within key end-use sectors such as telecom, automotive, construction, domestic appliances, energy generation and transmission.

Report Writing and Presentations

• Contribute to the W&C team\xe2\x80\x99s full suite of products, including reports covering Optical Fibres, Telecom Cables, HV, EHV & Submarine Cables, as well as broader W&C Market Outlooks.
• Identify and author high quality insights and special features that engage CRU\xe2\x80\x99s global W&C client base.

Customer Engagement

• Develop relationships with existing and potential W&C clients to foster knowledge sharing, identify client needs and nurture engagement with CRU\xe2\x80\x99s offerings in support of contract renewals.

About You:

• A top degree (Honours / First class ) from a top university or equivalent level qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree with merit or above is desired
• Strong quantitative background and a creative thinker based on a robust approach to data management and modelling.
• Ability to construct, deliver and defend a compelling sectoral narrative.
• Good understanding of the wider base metals industry and the ability to quickly grasp the key technical and financial aspects is strongly desired.
• Experience working within the W&C industry is advantageous.
• Analytical skills: Gather and critically analyse \xe2\x80\x9csoft\xe2\x80\x9d and \xe2\x80\x9chard\xe2\x80\x9d data; including quickly identifying key trends and drivers in order to generate perceptive conclusions and unique insight.
• Performance driven: Deliver against personal and team objectives, targets and deadlines.
• Commercial awareness: Understand the commercial drivers of the role, always seeking ways to maximise revenue/profit whilst generating the best value for clients.
• Team working: Balance the need to take personal initiative but also operate collaboratively as part of a group.
• Mature character: Gain the respect and trust of the clients through confident communication with market participants across all mediums.
• Communication skills: Fluent (written and spoken) in English.
• Numeracy: Familiarity with handling large data sets and understanding mathematical concepts and processes. Someone who can interpret, manipulate and manage data.
• IT Skills: Excellent Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and data management skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
