Version 1 are winning extensive new business across a range of customers. We are seeking a Senior Websphere Application Server Consultant working out of the UK to support one of our major new customers. This senior role will work alongside another 3 consultants provide project and services relating to the Websphere Application Server elements of the customer\xe2\x80\x99s technology stack. You will work in a team based in the UK and India delivering to a customer based in the UK. Version 1 invests in their people and you will be supported to take Associate, Professional and Speciality certifications and additional training that is relevant to your role. We have a successful learning and development programme that will allow you the freedom to take on training and certifications on the training platform of your choice.
Responsibilities

• Support and mentor mid- or junior-level WebSphere team members in developing their technical expertise and partake in Knowledge Transfer activities as required.
• Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server on AWS and Linux environments for 3 applications across 60 servers.
• Review and improve activities and processes such as monitoring, reporting, escalation paths etc.
• Resolve any complex technical issues with WebSphere Application Server while assigning or assisting with less complex issues.
• Work collaboratively with the customer and their other suppliers to root out pain points and propose innovative solutions.
• Work with the Version 1 Application Support, Database Support and Platform Support teams to tackle those pain points and drive Value-Add in line with our industry-leading ASPIRE methodology..
• Willing to be on the out-of-hours support team if and when required
• Provide support to developers, testers and other stakeholders regarding the application server infrastructure.
• Participate in design and planning of migration of server environments.
• Review and improve as needed any key plans such as Disaster Recovery, Capacity Management, Test Strategy and so on.
• Have an appreciation of networking, authentication, messaging, database connectivity, Linux and AWS hosted services.
• Work with the Security Team to ensure the application server infrastructure is secure and in compliance with relevant regulations.
• Work within the Incident, Problem, Change and Release Management regimes for the overall service (ITIL standards).
• Identify and drive opportunities for automation.
• Lead capacity planning and system design activities in the WebSphere space.
• Review documentation created by the team.t

Qualifications

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience working as a WebSphere Application Server Administrator.
• In-depth knowledge of WebSphere Application Server administration and configuration.
• Hands-on experience working with and influencing clients and senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication (both written and spoken English) and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Security experience.
• A keen interest in technology
