Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities: - The qualified individual will take the leading role of a team developing fixed income information and analytics products, and support the Fixed Income system mainly in US hours . - The successful candidate will lead a small team to work on the following work including creating new automated ETL data feeds, working with data analysts to define new web tools, refactoring data flow processes, performing support of existing tools, performing bug fixes, and technical support on the existing system in US hours. - Demonstrates significant knowledge of a single or multiple technologies and advises on design, development and implementation. - Advances tools and applications by producing clean and efficient code and reviews others' code when required. - Primary skills used will be Perl/Python/Java/SQL/JavaScript/HTML and Big data technologies and general Unix utilities. - Leads a team/s, promoting an inclusive and open culture, holding responsibility for motivation, retention and performance management, and leads by example. - Builds and defines learning and development plans for teams and individuals - Demonstrates depth of knowledge and expertise in software development and is regarded as the subject matter expert in their domain. Develops knowledge of other domains to understand linkages and dependencies. - Leads the delivery of important projects, supporting team members to be productive with little direction delegating and reviewing work when required. - Works with architects to decompose a solution into Epics - Leads design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to stories with product owners and quality leads. Qualifications & Experience: - Able to provide 12x7 Prod issue support(13:00 GMT - 1:00 GMT) - Professional qualification or equivalent - Significant knowledge of at least one programming language (Perl, Java, Python) - Moderate experience of multiple development technologies and knowledge of when patterns are appropriate and solutions are anti-patterns - Obtain SQL and relational database concepts in depth, familiar with at least one DB (Sybase ASE ,SQL Server or PostgreSQL), Database maintenance and support experience is a plus. - Proactive, patient and responsible, present to be good team player. - Knowledge of Cloud and Big Data : AWS RDS maintenance experience is plus -Rich experience on solution design and development team managing -Excellent development skills on database system. Be proficient in any language of Perl/Python/Java, and rich experience of backend financial system design. - Strong database/SQL knowledge and performance tuning experience. - Strong experience of debug and troubleshooting on UNIX platform - Knowledge and experience on the following is a plus: AWS or Azure Cloud platform system design , big data processing. - 6+ years system design and coding experience. Have been a major design decision maker in a 100k line source code level system. - Be Able to provide 12x7 Prod issue support(13:00 GMT - 1:00 GMT) - Strong sense of core system support and customer satisfaction. - Domain knowledge of Fixed Income or financial market is a plus.
