Job Responsibilities & Competencies

  • Represents the Technical Support Service in front of customer, managing difficult situations and conflict resolutions.
  • Review network operation for improvement and optimization for new programs and high-risk activities
  • Proactively review Nokia Product Alerts, Notices and PCNs for possible impact to the customers network and actif necessary
  • Represent Nokia at customer quality and operations meeting pertaining to Nokia equipment.
  • Chronic issues investigation leadership
  • Coordinate significant network activities related to supported Nokia equipment.
  • Provide technical product information
  • Assist the Nokias TAC/TEC in diagnostic activities remotely or locally
  • Provide technical and process leadership helping the customer personnel identify technical and procedural issues that may arise during the support operations, integration and network roll-out activities.
  • Advocate for the customer during outages.
  • Represents customer (interests) within Nokia for Technical Support Service activities.
  • Provides customer-facing communication regarding operational, technical and quality issues. Makes timely recommendations to customer.
  • Provides analysis of Product Release notes and Alerts to the customer.
  • Provides technical guidance for Upgrades/Retrofits, if within the scope of Agreement.
  • Supports Emergency Management (EM) team in technical aspects of Outage management
  • Maintains information about customer network in relevant databases.
  • Supports CarePM from a technical stand point.
  • Is responsible along with CarePM for customer satisfaction.
  • Keeps himself aware of network health.
  • Keeps himself technically abreast with NPI and Rollout activities of his customer.
  • Keeps himself aware of tendering-negotiations for his customer.
  • Can make suggestions or raise concerns.
  • Shares sales opportunities with CarePM or Sales.
  • Skills
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience deploying & Operating optical networks.
  • In-depth technical expertise in optical transport networks including Packet transport (PTN), Control Plane- GMPLS (ASON, Layer 0, Layer1), DWDM, SDH, MPLS-TP, Ethernet, Layer 2.
  • Familiarity with DWDM, RAMAN, EDFA, WSS, Control Plane, Flexgrid, and CDC architecture
  • Proficient in integration, testing, provisioning, commissioning & maintenance of fiber optics transmission products & applications.
  • Demonstrates significant and specialized knowledge of fiber optic principles and DWDM transmission.
  • Extensive skills on Different Tools For Troubleshooting such as Power Meters, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) & CD / PMD analyzer, BERT to test fiber and verify specifications and throughput.
  • Create system support documentation including instructional procedures, provisioning guidelines, test plans, problem documentation and functional process flows
  • Monitor network characteristics, maintain logs, and follow procedures to effectively respond to out-of-tolerance conditions or outages
  • Contribute to the design, provisioning, and operations of the edge and backbone transport with emphasis on networking best practices
  • Project managing hardware deployments, migrations, upgrades and all major activation work

  • Education
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Engineering or Technical Field
Essential Skills:
  • Minimum 8-10 years of telecommunication industry experience, within the Optical
Transport domain
  • Must have minimum of 5-8 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working within Optical Systems
Engineering, Architecture, Product Management or similar discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of the optical transport industry and technologies (DWDM, OTN,
Ethernet)
