Role title: Technical Lead / Sr. Technical Lead , Packet Network Engineering

Location: BLR/GGN

Role purpose

• Test design and execution, logging results in Ethernet and IP area
• Ensures the delivery of the network architecture for data/packet Infrastructure to reduce cost and to increase flexibility for the introduction of new products and services
• Ensures the proper execution of network infrastructure projects.
• Lead the network infrastructure projects end to end and help stake holder for early completion.
• Develops solutions to address a variety of business problems across own area / projects

Key accountabilities

• Responsible in owning/co-owing a technology piece in Layer-2/Layer-3 Area
• Leading the colt transformation activity from Legacy Ciena/Attrica to latest platforms.
• Leading the strategic project for monitoring the production network heath for future proofing the integration, tools and leverage the benefit of latest technology.
• Knowledge to adopt ideas using AI.
• Interface with Project mgrs. periodically to ensure, the deliverables are defined and met for the assigned project activity.
• Design and development of large Data/Packet and Transmission Network in Europe and other places. This network consists variety of large numbers of layer-2 and layer-3 equipment\'s from multiple vendors make the role interesting and challenging.
• Testing & Evaluation - Evaluation of new technology and solutions for supporting new and emerging business requirements.
• Implementation of network standards and services architecture in solutions designs

• Provide all the required documentation, system diagrams, provisioning and troubleshooting guides
• Supports TAC with vendor escalations

• Responsible to flag any issues (technical/vendor/business) to management or stake holders in driving timely resolutions

Role specific requirements

Skills & Experience

• 8-12 years\' experience in test lab for telecommunications infrastructure.
• Ability to understand and test at the network level is a must. Should be hands on in previous/current job.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of telecom carrier grade products and services and a broad knowledge of the current telecom product offerings across different geographies.
• Good knowledge of tools and monitoring system used across industry to monitor the network dynamics.

• In depth knowledge of Layer-2 concept and protocols (Carrier Ethernet/MPLS/G.8032) along with basic idea of Layer-3 domain.
• Excellent written, oral and presentation skills able to articulate technical concepts into documentation.
• Good knowledge on ITU-T/GR/MEF is an essential.
• Experience in documenting the of high/low level test design, test cases, method of procedure (upgrade/downgrade) etc. .is must.
• Experience with System/Network level verification testing with emphasis on Layer-2 for Core Network.
• Experience with service provides either directly or indirectly (through product offering from product companies) is an advantage.

Qualifications

BE (Computer Science/E&C/Info Technology)
Fluency in written and spoken English is must since candidate will be expected to communicate with colleagues across Europe & Asia.
