About Business line/Function:

The Global Markets business of BNP Paribas helps its corporate and institutional clients leverage capital markets across the globe for their financing, risk management and investment needs. This encompasses a wide range of financial products ranging from Foreign exchange to complex Equity Derivatives that are traded in financial markets across the globe 24/7. IT systems are integral to the business and are a key part of the value proposition to clients. These IT systems range from industry standard products for standard process automation to internally developed, often, market leading IT applications. The IT teams owning these IT systems are made up of functions that include Technical and Application production support, Business Analysis & Project Management, Development & Maintenance and Quality Control. Position Purpose

The position is for a senior technical architect in collateral management team. It requires hands on knowledge in coding. The person should have experience in designing full scale multi tier applications. Good knowledge of software engineering practices is a must to be able to coach and inspire other team members to drive for better quality coding both from an architectural and process point of view. The person should be able to work on POCs to establish new features to be tried out in applications.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

• Reviewing current Architecture, identify drawbacks and propose performant, scalable designs
• Should have good understanding of RDBMS & NO-SQL dbs and their use cases
• Review current design to show how the application can be modularized.
• Should be able to design service-oriented architecture using micro services
• Be able to build features from scratch to demonstrate how frameworks function
• Lay down standards for best practices for coding.
• Peer Review code to find out any bad practices.
• Onboard/Train existing team members on target technology
• Contributing to design the best solution that meets the functional needs while respecting the overall workflow of the existing application.
• Writing/Amending code that conforms to the best practice standards, both documented and de-facto.
• Escalation of barriers to progress via his/her team leader in a timely and succinct manner.
• Providing Technical guidance to other developers; assisting other team members in design related discussions
• Should have good exposure to application and/or database performance tuning.

\xc2\xa7 Experience with Architectural Paradigms like DDD, notions of division by domain/sub-domain, API First, Data Driven

\xc2\xa7 Experience with deployment models like modular, monolith and microservice
