Senior Software Development Engineer in Test - Performance Engineering

Overview

Mastercard Connect Team is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Performance) Engineer that is passionate about meeting or exceeding customer expectations when it comes to the software and services perform we deliver to production. This role will be based in our Mastercard technology location in Pune, India that provides a state-of-the-art environment for technology teams to thrive in a collaborative, Agile engineering culture.

Responsibilities

Build and run automation and benchmark tests to improve quality, performance, and scalability;
Work with Scrum Teams to develop performance test plans and cases;
Understand end-customer needs and associated value chain to drive processes and practices to ensure flawless customer experience;
Analyze test results and coordinate with development teams for bug fixes;
Will have the initiative to not only fix the bug, but also want to take a deeper look into the cause (Analyze root causes of performance issues and provide corrective actions);
Collaborate with engineers, database engineers, solution architects, product management to design new functionality;
Work with software engineers to implement performance regression automated testing;
Suggest new tools and techniques to improve testing efficiency;
Develop automated test scenarios and environments for performance testing;
Review and recommend improvements to existing test procedures;
Setting up our performance testing best practices;
Guiding other performance test engineers

Qualifications

Proficient at conducting performance, scalability, stability and reliability testing activities;
Identify any negative changes to performance and work with the teams to resolve them;
Identify solutions for testing performance issues across the entire stack;
Able to gather necessary information for creating workload models and SLAs from relevant stakeholders;
Analyze test results and use debugging tools to identify the source of problems and make general recommendations for optimization;
Sound knowledge of Java, Spring, JUnit, Eclipse IDE, Rest Assured, Appium, Jbehave/Cucumber frameworks, Databases, APIs (REST/SOAP), Continuous Delivery concepts and tools such as Jenkins/Bamboo, vulnerability tools such as Sonar, Checkmarx/Fortify, etc.;
Expertise in agile delivery, life-cycle management tools (JIRA/Rally/Rational Concert), software testing standards, methods and conventions;
Deep Experience with performance engineering and profiling (e.g. Java JVM, Databases) and tools such as Load Runner, JMeter. Exposure to Application performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace and Splunk desirable;
Create reports to communicate issues detected during testing and provide feedback regarding possible causes;
Hands-on experience with load testing tools like JMeter, LoadUI, WAPT, CloudTest, etc.;
Proven experience working with cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and AWS is a plus;
Able to develop your own tools to facilitate and enhance performance testing activities is a plus;
Must be self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team;
Customer-focused with excellent follow-through on commitments

Education

MS degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, or related field is preferred
