Senior Software Developer C++

Year    Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Kolkata, India

Job Description

Arup is an independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants, and technical specialists offering a broad range of professional services. Through our work, we make a positive difference in the world.

We have an ambitious commitment to be the digital leader in the built environment and are investing heavily in our digital transformation. We have digital teams and experts all over the world, who collaborate on world-leading software, data and automation projects and products.

The role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a senior C++ developer to join our global development team specialising in technical software for structural engineering design and analysis. You will be developing a world-leading structural engineering software suite that has been used to design iconic structures like the Gherkin in London and The Angel of the North.

Our team is a mix of structural engineers and software developers in different locations around the world, who work to define and develop new features as well as refine and optimise the existing ones.

We have bold plans to create new cloud based products from the value already held in our existing suite. This role would suit someone who enjoys refactoring and improving an existing code base so it can be reused for new products and platforms.

Work in our team of software developers, engineers and devops to design, implement, test and deliver high-quality, robust software applications for Windows and cloud, written in C++20 and C#, with UI development in JavaScript using Chromium and Vue.js.

"I love working for Arup, and the strong emphasis it has on innovation. I appreciate the openness within the team and the supportive environment that has been created. I have never been bored in the role - we're working on very challenging and interesting problems."
- Samila, London

  • Playing an active part in our agile team: helping to build an inclusive environment, sharing your knowledge and promoting development best practices with colleagues within in the team and the wider Arup developer community
  • Keeping up to date with the software industry trends through hands-on experimentation with new technologies, blogging and attending workshops
