AMSI is seeking candidates for the Senior PGSql DBA position based in the Guragon/Noida office:

What can you expect:

The purpose of this position is to ensure timely, high-quality database support by executing production database-related tasks including requests to store data for a client, fix data errors, manage disk space or storage, monitors database performance, develops scripts and provides outstanding technical support to the internal end-user community. This role helps to set the strategic direction for the database platforms.

• Support in Installation, configuration and upgrading PostgreSQL software and products as per guidelines given.
• Implement automated methods and industry best practices for consistent installation and configuration of PostgreSQL for production and non-production environments
• Planning for and actual backup and recovery of database information.
• Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases.
• Prepare documentations and specifications.

We will count on you to:

Daily operations responsibilities include handling and serving as the team member on the following items/activities:

• Work on Change Orders as per implementation plan.
• Drive end-to-end availability, performance monitoring, and capacity planning for PostgreSQL, using different tools.
• Experience in backup and recovery procedures including familiarity with PBBACKUP, pgdump and BARMAN.
• Experience in point in time recovery.
• Experience in Master and slave replication setup.
• Experience in setup hot standby.
• Experience in PostgreSQL db upgrade.
• Experience in managing PostgreSQL on cloud (PAAS/IAAS).
• Experience in Managing PostgreSQL via DOCKER.
• Health checkup of PostgreSQL database.
• Experience in Performance Tuning.
• Experienced in integrating with AD for user management
• Experience in managing PostgreSQL via PGBAGER and DATADOG.
• Writing Cron Jobs/Shell scripting for DBA Administrator tasks
• Troubleshooting database issues.
• Proactively monitor and setup alerting mechanism for both database and supporting hardware to ensure system health and maximum availability.
• Manage Disaster Recovery environment.
• Identify and resolve incidents and address user problems/concerns.
• Ability to generate reports of all processes and jobs currently running on PostgreSQL with details like users, start and end time, CPU Usage and time, Memory usage, IO Time, locking etc.

Peer review support team database activities and work with support team issues that impact the database

What you need to have:

• 7 -10 years of PostgreSQL database Administration.
• Should have worked on UNIX platform.
• Should have worked on cloud AWS EC2 (IAAS & PAAS).
• Should have worked on managing PostgreSQL on Container.
• Good to have Familiarity with other SQL/NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, etc will be added advantage
