Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

The role of Strategic Sourcing Manager is within the Electrical and Electronics (E/E1) group at Strategic Support Unit (SSU) at M&M. E/E1 group is central sourcing organization within SSU catering to Electric Vehicles, Automotive, Farm, Trucks/Buses, Construction, Two-wheeler, and Powerol businesses. The commodities sourced within E/E include Sensors, Controllers, Chargers, Switches Digital Cockpit, Acoustic technologies, ADAS, Telematics, AR-HUD, HMI, Software, etc. The candidate will report to the Commodity Head - Electrical and Electronics 1 and will be responsible for sourcing some of the above commodities.
The identified candidate will play a critical role in the launch of M&M's future EV brands - XUV and the Born Electric - BE, and multiple new programs in other businesses. The candidate will be responsible for managing the assigned commodities from RFI/RFQ stage, business award, and prototype through serial production. The position has high visibility within the organization and offers a chance to make large scale impact on the future of Electric Mobility within India. This role is a vital in keeping M&M abreast of all technology disruptions and maintaining technology pre-eminence of our platforms in our strategic markets.

What you'll be doing:

• Develop and maintain a sourcing strategy for the assigned commodities in coordination with Product Planning, Product Development, CDMM, etc. to meet product requirements.
• Keep abreast of technology trends, monitor industry dynamics, and understand the technology roadmap of critical suppliers and communicate it within org via. Commodity Strategy, DSS, and Tech-Shows
• Negotiate and structure commercial contracts with suppliers to ensure competitiveness in parts, development, and software costs, data ownership, localization plans, etc.
• Manage the strategic supplier relationship with domestic and international suppliers within E/E domain
• Manage sourcing team and develop competencies such as component demystification, etc.
• Track the BOM cost for assigned commodities pre- and post - SOP
• Partners with internal stakeholders such as PD, IMCR, CDMM etc to ensure suppliers meet program milestones, delivering material on-time and quality, and implement cost savings opportunities via VA/VE
• Anticipate business risk associated with own commodities and relevant industries and propose mitigation plan
• Manage and resolve supply chain issues for critical commodities
• Be a role model for Ethics and Integrity as well as demonstration of Sourcing behaviours

• Bachelors: Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical Engineering
• PGP / Masters / MBA

General Experience

• Experience: 10-15 yrs. experience in Strategic Sourcing - Electronics domain in Automotive industry or Broad range of exposure across various high-tech commodities
• Strong business acumen, negotiation skills, keen analytical mind-set, critical thinking, sharp influencing ability, strategic planning & drive execution
