Job Description
Job purpose As a Senior Manager, Database Administrator, you will be responsibile for an organizations database estate. This will involve the creation of procedures and policies; overseeing design, maintenance, and database implementation; managing daytoday database administration; and establishing a longterm development and centralisation strategy.
What will you do? Lead the ongoing development of the database function and associated business intelligence
- Manage ongoing risk, business continuity and disaster recovery
- Data and metadata management
- On an ongoing basis you will recruit, motivate and manage your own team of database administrators
- Provide structure and strategic guidelines to the enterprise database architecture
- Monitor the performance of the database
- Enhance database performance and resilience
- Manage critical or high-risk database projects
- Strong SQL Server database administration experience, including infrastructure, backup/restore, availability management, performance tuning, indexing, query optimization and capacity planning.
- Previous experience managing or leading a team looking after a database estate.
- Good communication skills, positive outlook, and the drive to develop your career.
- A bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science
- Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
