Job Description

You will be working with cutting edge technologies and will drive the Core Engineering platform systems to the next level in its journey towards our Northstar architecture. This includes aspects of directional tech stack enablement, SOE, SRE, stability, security, and availability. You will champion and drive initiatives partnering with cross functional teams and leadership to define, prioritize, execute, and track the KPIs. You will be driving innovation as a culture with the teams through various methods. You will work with architecture teams and vendors to drive the programs to success and enable better user experience for our Verizon network customers. You should be able to create, lead, shape, and execute programs and initiatives to improve people skills, process optimization, and modern technology adoption to create higher value for the business.
Program/Project delivery excellence: Owning program delivery working closely with the stakeholders (i.e., management, users, employees, vendors - India and US). Aligning the team on business goals and strategically steering towards Verizon India 2.0 goals.
Leadership advocacy with business and IT stakeholders: Being a strong proponent of the ideas and thought leadership to represent the team and project on management and executive meetings. Collecting metrics (e.g., ROI, KPIs) and business processes involved behind the programs and consistently refine them to achieve superior results.
Driving platform strategy planning and execution: Driving efforts to strategize, plan, and implement the short-term and long-term goals of building a robust, repeat-at-scale, and efficient model for the engineering platform that will encompass standard Northstar architecture across domains/systems. It will also include SOE/SRE, DevSecOps, Security, Stability, Scalability and Availability tools and processes in place. Enabling automation and proactive monitoring to detect issues and communicate to business proactively. With hands-on technical strength, guide the team on architecture, design, and on-the-job challenges.
Building a high-performing team culture: Defining ways around creating a high-performing team in your space and applying performance management practices with every member of the team, reviewing progress regularly, and providing feedback monthly.
Creating superior employee experience: Creating scalable practices that help maintain a high level of engagement with team members on a regular basis and ensure that there is a constant connect.
Enabling best-in-class developer ecosystem with needed access, data, stakeholder partnerships, work-life balance, and employee long-term career paths.

Vendor management: Managing vendors on the ARTs or non-ART programs/domain teams.
Creating people and technology leadership pipeline: Nurturing the development of talent into strategic roles in both technology and strategic management.
Driving a culture of Innovation: Championing a culture of innovation and drive as an example.
Encouraging the team to participate in experimentation, hackathons, coding events, and other organization-wide events and efforts.
Managing and tracking the budgets and financials.

You'll need to have:
Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience in software development and in a managerial role.
Four or more years of experience managing large-scale core development projects from scratch, and experience handling requirements, design, and deliveries.
Experience in Agile (SAFe/Scrum) delivery management.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A degree.
Analytical and data-driven decision making skill: a strong affinity to use data to generate insights and reports for improving platform performance and resilience.
Experience in telecom network domain and network OSS solutions.
Certifications, industry recognition, patents, and published papers.
Experience with and knowledge of AI/ML, Big Data technology, NLP, Chatbots, and AR/VR.
Strong people leadership and mentoring skills.
The ability to solve complex problems with creatively solutions that enhance the user/employee experience and doing so under time pressures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Education: Any Graduate
