We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Data Scientist to support our Retail Membership Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to derive actionable insights from membership data and drive strategic decisions to optimize our membership program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data science, with a focus on retail membership or customer loyalty analytics.
Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of advanced analytics projects to drive member acquisition, retention, and engagement.
  • Utilize machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling techniques to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities in membership data.
  • Develop and maintain predictive models for member segmentation, churn prediction, and lifetime value analysis.
  • Analyze member behavior and preferences to understand key drivers of satisfaction and loyalty and provide recommendations to enhance the member experience.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize the membership program.
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of membership data.
  • Design and implement experiments and A/B tests to evaluate the impact of program changes and marketing initiatives on member behavior and engagement.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data science and retail analytics.
  • Mentor and coach junior members of the data science team, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master\xe2\x80\x99s in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
  • Proven experience in data science, with a focus on retail membership or customer loyalty analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques, with experience in applying these methods to solve real-world business problems.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and relational databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of delivering impactful data science projects and driving business outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for turning data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role is a plus.
