Job Description


Position Summary with Job ResponsibilitiesPurpose of the position-Cost Engineering & VAVE Engineer is responsible to drive idea generation, syndication and implementation with VMTs (vehicle module teams) by deploying VAVE methodology and various levers.Job Profile-1 Develop E+ pipeline of cost reduction / avoidance ideas for current and new products applying all relevant VAVE and cost engineering levers

  • Plan idea generation and syndication activities to generate syndicated ideas pipeline
  • Drive competition vehicle teardown and benchmarking and Unique idea generation
  • Drive reviews with product line level for conversion of G and E (ie generation and evaluation)
  • Drive decision sheets for high value proposals
  • Managing the aggregate wise idea bank
2 Drive Implementation of VAVE ideas to achieve accrual target of cost reduction
  • Review with ERC for the releases of ideas
  • Implementation Reviews with plant team
  • Identify key enablers and follow-up to expedite Validation and release of high value ideas
  • Enable concept development of the ideas and pursue concept approval
  • Periodic reviews to ensure the timely validation and ERC proto / Production release
  • Co-ordinate SOR release, TRSO, TKO
  • Follow up with Purchase to achieve syndicated savings, PO release
  • Follow up with Engineering for Test report, Green report and regulatory certification, DML
  • Prepare MIS and Review governance
  • Monitor the inventory of out going part / level
  • Follow up of the supplier development, tooling, PPAP status, sample submission
  • Follow up for 1/5/25 tryouts, feedback closure
  • Declare the change over plan, ensure no obsolesence
  • Follow for the ramp up of new part / level
3 Benchmark information management - Knowing the pulse of competition cost structure, technological progress
  • Competition launch analysis and Benchmark information management - Knowing the pulse of competition cost structure, technological progress etc
EducationDegree in EnggWork Experience
  • 2 to 6 years of experience in the Product Development or VAVE programs
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders and getting targets achieved
Ability to Drive For Results and Timely decision makingSkills/ Competencies-
  • Having fairly good costing knowledge
  • Ability to do competition analysis of technology, features and engineering
  • Detailed understanding of functioning of various components used in Passenger vehicles
  • Dealing with Ambiguous situation and having fairly high Business Acumen
