Marsh & McLennanis seeking candidates for the following position that can be based remotely Senior Manager - IT Systems Engineering What can you expect: The Product engineering group is responsible for defining, developing and operating cloud products consumed by platform teams across the firm. As a Kafka Infrastructure Engineering Leader, you will be responsible setting up and leading a team that will design, build, configure and maintain highly available and scalable streaming products like Confluent Kafka, Kafka connect, KSQL for applications usage across the firm. In the Product Engineering team you get to work on the latest tech stack in the areas of process automation, technology life cycle management, orchestration, infrastructure as code, large scale software distributions, DevOps tooling, CI/CD in hybrid environment. We will count on you to: Lead a small, distributed team of skilled engineers, responsible for building and operating a highly available Streaming products in hybrid and multi-region environments Build software packages, test and deploy efficiently in large scale using industry best practices Automate operational tasks, technology life cycle management, build pipelines and develop best practices Continuously improve the efficiencies of build tools and the use of CI/CD for no touch or one touch code deployment Monitor and manage streaming products in both private and public cloud environments by building right telemetry and integrating with firm wide observability platform Own the capacity management process, build the best practices, automation, develop capacity KPIs and integrate with firm wide capacity management tools Partner with product and implementation vendors for operational efficiencies and develop service level metrics Be able to handle complex requirements & problems independently and should have self-drive to automate any repeating manual tasks What is in it for you We are the globalleader in the human resources consulting As part of Mercer, we offer top-notch benefits: multiple medical, dental, and vision plans with choices to fit all needs and budgets - benefits coverage starting Day 1 Flexible work opportunities for work/life balance A culture of internal mobility, diversity, inclusion, and collaboration What you need to have: Experience in setting up and running distributed teams of highly skilled and experienced engineers Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science/ Engineering, or equivalent Experience in designing, building and maintaining secure enterprise scale systems Experience in High availability cluster setup, maintenance and ongoing 24/7 support Experience in building Kafka pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, Cloud formation templates, shells etc. Experience in implementing security & authorization (permission based) on Kafka cluster Experience in open source and confluence Kafka, zookeepers, Kafka connect, schema registry, KSQL, Rest proxy and Kafka Control center Experience in building automation using REST APIs in Java/Python Experience with development and continuous deployment in an agile work environment using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub actions etc. Experience with container platform, AWS, datadog is a plus Experience with confluent Kafka is a plus Knowledge of messaging/streaming products Experience with AWS KMS for data encryption/decryption Experience working in global teams that operate in agile model Strong communication and collaboration skills to be able to work within and across team to drive integrations in hybrid environment
