Global Commercial Assessment & Forecasting (GCAF) is a global function encompassing long-range pharmaceutical asset forecasting across the product lifecycles of all assets within Human Health (Oncology, Vaccines, Hospital Specialty / Primary care). Assets include early and late-stage molecules in clinical development, companies under considerations by business development for partnering and/ or acquisition as well as currently launched products. Forecasting deliverables support division planning and decision making across multiple functional areas such as finance, manufacturing, product development and commercial. In addition to ensuring high-quality deliverables, our team drives synergies across divisions, fosters innovation and best practices, and creates solutions to bring speed, scale and shareability to our planning processes. As we endeavor, we are seeking a dynamic talent for the role of "Sr. Manager - Forecast Modeling and Capabilities"

The candidate will lead specific verticals of model and capability developers and help conceptualize, develop, implement, and evolve existing and new forecasting capabilities and frameworks across teams. We are looking for an expert modeler, who has expertise in excel, VBA, Python, R, and has good exposure in implementing end to end solutions such as simulations capabilities, automated reporting and dashboarding. Ability to relate to the business and incorporate therapeutic specific nuances will be crucial for successful deployment; and strong internal networking / collaboration, project management skills are important components of success.

Responsibilities:

Lead development and execution of all modeling capabilities within assigned area of responsibility working closely with business leads to prioritize and deliver top quality forecasting solutions with allocated resources

Drive automation and continuous improvement to bring in robustness and efficiency gains in forecasting/process; incorporating best-in-class statistical forecasting methods to improve the accuracy

Responsible for managing team and work closely with the business partner and forecasting team to define functional requirements and translate into technical specifications

Actively manage all elements of model development - concept notes, model development, testing (UAT), model pre-population and rollout while ensuring adherence to industry benchmark SDLC standards and technical documentation.

Communicate effectively across stakeholders across business and HHIAD (Human Health Insights Analytics and Data), and proactively identify and resolve conflicts and prioritize work by engaging with relevant stakeholders

Expected span of control (~5-10 employees); in addition to this, participate in selection, talent development and trainings of our company employees

Required Experience and skills:

Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field

8+ years' experience working with Life Sciences companies in forecasting and/or data & analytics function within Commercial or Finance

Ability to work on varied types of therapies and managing end to end solutions for multiple projects parallelly.

Expertise with a variety of modeling techniques including statistical, patient-flow, simulations, agent based and other systems dynamics-based techniques

Good working knowledge of technical review and implementing industry standard best practices regarding development/maintenance of coding modules.

Expertise in developing web-based forecasting platforms, conducting simulations, end-to-end pharmaceutical forecasting is a plus

Experience leading development teams with 5+ members working in ambiguous environments, and ability to adapt to changing needs of business

Expertise in various technologies and capabilities (R, VBA, excel, Python, Qlik, Spotfire, PowerBI, SQL)

Proven ability to work collaboratively across large & diverse functional teams, an agile mindset and proactiveness to solve problems

Strong communication and project management, analytical problem-solving skills, with focus on innovation is a must

Experience with databases and cloud technology (e.g., AWS, Google, Azure) will be a plus
