Job Role

The Product Owner is responsible for executing the vision and plan to deliver scale, improve resilience, enhance client service, increase STP and drive efficiencies that the Cash Operations organisation requires.

We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for an experienced Product owner / business analyst to support the delivery of the Cash change agenda at Standard Chartered, with a focus on driving the implementation of commercial cards solution, data and digital ccy handling and other operational efficiency change initiatives across Cash Operations.

Key responsibilities will include

  • looking for opportunities to improve and deliver new solutions
  • evaluating the impact of the change
  • supporting the delivery of that change into Cash Operations, including all the relevant documentation and processes required.
We need a detailed planner and expert communicator, with experience of delivery of change initiatives within a Financial Institution, and ideally some experience / knowledge of Digital Currency platforms, commercial cards handling activities.

This role requires significant partnership with the technology team and being a partner in delivering a data hub that meets the needs of use cases.

Strategy
  • Responsible for understanding the role commercial cards, data and digital ccy plays in supporting the operational processes for Cash Management products - viz. Payments, Collections and clearing, and be well versed in identifying opportunities to create value add \xe2\x80\x93 including identifying potential client benefits and commercialisation opportunities.
  • Responsible for the realisation of benefits (client experience, regulatory impact, capacity improvement) from the data lake investment.
  • Responsible for understanding the role data plays in supporting the operational processes for Cash Management products - viz. Payments, Collections and clearing, and be well versed in identifying opportunities to create value add - including identifying potential client benefits and commercialisation opportunities.
Business
  • Support the development and implementation of management plans for relevant change initiatives, with attention to transparent communication at all levels.
  • Support the development of system / process prototypes which promote increased efficiency and productivity on multiple levels.
  • Monitoring of production release through metrics (KRI, KPI) and establish / maintain feedback channels with user population and product team - making recommendations to the product team as required for backlog prioritisation.
Processes
  • Play the role of Agile Product Owner for the Cash efficiency program, commercial cards, data and digital ccy activities responsible for managing product backlog, sprint deliverables, and requirements for go-live.
  • Interacting with the technical teams and the country operations stakeholders and users to ensure that the requirements are clear and well understood.
  • Coordinate and (where needed, own / write) the development of all new documentation and activities required for system change and delivery - including user stories, testing scripts, and final operating model.
  • Determine and develop user requirements (including writing user stories) for systems / platforms in production, to ensure maximum usability - and help coordinate UAT on any release.
  • Help design, document and maintain system processes both for new systems / platforms, and enhancements required to existing solutions
  • Turn business requirements into user DOIs (Operating Instructions) ahead of implementation.
  • Socialise new product development with impacted users with clear communication, using a variety of comms channels and methods as required, including training and education of user population from a product and system perspective.
  • Perform, evaluate, and communicate at every stage of platform / system development and implementation.
People and Talent
  • Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized systems integration, and respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations.
Risk Management
  • Responsible for the Audit and Risk Control Standard associated with Cash Services operations.
  • To ensure approved generic Product Programs and their corresponding Country Product Templates are in place before any product is accepted for implementation by Service Delivery. To refer any instances to Group Operations and CORG via KPIs and monthly risk exception reporting.
  • To proactively monitor and manage operational risks, system risk and channel risk of the products and to highlight any potential and actual breakdown of controls to Group Operations and CORG via KPIs and risk exception reporting.
  • Work with UORM to develop, design and implement control measures and monitoring plans for compliance and operational risk management.
  • Timely update of monitoring conducted in ORMA Optial Ensure risks and issues identified are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.
Governance
  • Provide oversight across three hubs, ensuring compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This incudes compliance with local banking laws and anti-money - laundering regulations and guidelines.
  • Embed the Group\xe2\x80\x99s values and code of conduct in SSC Cash to ensure that adherence with the highest standard of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees form part of the culture
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Other Responsibilities
  • Actively collaborate with Technology teams in designing System Requirements, reporting requirements, and Data Lake infrastructure, and in developing Optimal solution approach which not only addresses current issues but is beneficial in the Long run and is aligned to Product goals and with overall Bank policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with Cash Operations and Product teams across SCB locations for requirement management and to measure the impact and efficiency of new product launches, system enhancements and other process changes.
  • Work with Delivery and project services organizations as well as other vendor organizations in ensuring requirements are transformed into effective solutions with-in cost and schedules and quality adhering to the bank\xe2\x80\x99s standards, guide-lines and policies.
  • Establish and build strong work relationship with Product Development, Technology, BAU Operations team and actively engage with various teams towards common project goals and encourage collaboration to truly function as \xe2\x80\x98One Bank\xe2\x80\x99.
  • Lead business implementation activities such as End User training, Data Migration / Conversion, Operational readiness and User security matrix definition.
