Job Description

Position Overview Provides support on Monitoring, Network LAN, WAN and wireless environments, along with administration of the networking hardware and software components, like switches, routers, and various other LAN/ WAN components of the Diebold Nixdorf network. The Network Engineer serves in a Senior Analyst role while tackling day to day operational issues in the Network Infrastructure space for Diebold’s Enterprise primarily, liaise with Vendors for circuit management. The candidate is also expected to have know-how of various Network Monitoring Tools. You are responsible for

• Good knowledge and experience with: TCP/IP, Cisco IOS, LAN/WAN/WLAN, Ethernet switching, routing protocols.
• Monitoring and maintenance of Router and switch architecture, configuration and support.
• Monitoring and maintenance of Wireless network architecture, implementation, and support.
• Customer connectivity support via Internet VPN, MPLS, or another dedicated network.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of P1/P2 incidents and escalate to the next level as needed.
• Perform troubleshooting of P3/P4 tickets and resolve them within the stipulated SLA’s.
• Knowledge of ITIL process (Incident and Change Managements).
• Automate and do proactive monitoring of WAN circuits through the monitoring tools. Liaise with global service providers in the event of circuit failures and performance degradation to restore the services to normal state.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with handling international clients.
• Ensures the stable operation of DN customer network.
• Analyze and resolves network connectivity problems in timely and accurate fashion.
• Proactive monitoring of customer networks.
• Organize daily support tickets (incidents, service requests), emails, and instant messages and finish them on time, often with cooperation with other support teams.
• Analyzing, troubleshooting and correcting network problems remotely.
• Good communication skills email/Verbal is Mandatory

Preferred Qualifications

• Good knowledge of TCP/IP stack in general, Ethernet
• Familiar with basic network architectures and designs
• Basic Knowledge of IPsec VPNs
• Basic knowledge of Solar winds administration, Incident management
• Basic knowledge on Palo-alto firewall and ASA Firewall
• Basic understanding and troubleshooting of BGP routing, IPsec VPNs, and SDWAN
• Ability to resolve major incidents and work with customers/vendors to isolate connectivity issues
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology or a related study.
• Experience of 5-7 years of relevant experience.
• Effective interpersonal skills and reasonably good verbal and written English communication skills. Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
• Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret functional requirements and modify our systems to satisfy those requirements.
• Willingness to intermittently travel, both domestic and international.
• Associate Cisco certification (CCNA Routing & Switching) is mandate and Professional (CCNP) certification would be an added advantage.
