Job Description


Under limited supervision, with independent judgment and decision-making the Senior HR Specialist is responsible for working closely with employees and managers on Human Resource (HR) related matters. Proactively consult and regularly follow-up with business team managers to develop, implement and monitor HR related deliverables. The individual will also work closely with HR teams across India and the US on implementing the global HR practices. The role requires working on entire employee lifecycle including, but not limited to Strategic Initiatives Support, Developing and Implementing global HR Practices, Policies & Processes, Employee Onboarding, HR Operations, Employee Grievances, Compensation and Benefits, Performance Management System, HR Audits, Employee Engagement, Employee Separation, Employee Retention, Special Projects assigned time to time, HR Reports & Metrics. Awareness of legal requirements affecting HR functions and ensuring policies, procedures and actions are complying.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Partner with management at all levels to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
  • Monitor and respond to HR inbox within the required response time.
  • Identify regulatory compliance concerns related to employee relations and partner with managers to provide support on employee hiring, coaching, counseling, retention, compensation, exit interviews and separation formalities.
  • Process new hire initiatives related to pre-onboarding, onboarding, documentation, happy hours, employee surveys, new hire check-ins and background verification in accordance with the company standards.
  • Maintaining employee personal data, documents, performance records, professional employment history and other employee records on employee self-service tool along with physical files. Strong focus on managing process oriented timely documentation.
  • Managing and monitoring attendance and leave management, strong understanding of employee salaries, deductions, reimbursements, and bonus pay-outs. Address and ensure timely resolution to employee queries related to payroll, attendance, leaves, deductions, bonus pay-outs and other compensation linked concerns.
  • Familiarity with working on software tools used by HR Team viz. HRIS, ESS, PMS, ATS, TLM etc. would be preferable.
  • Prepare job descriptions and department career paths in collaboration with the business teams.
  • Performing job evaluations and job analyses.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and support effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Analytical approach, multi-tasking ability with a strong head on the shoulders. Thoughtful approach and a positive attitude.
  • Escalate complex issues and follow through to resolution, ensuring appropriate communication to all involved parties.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance to employees on HR policies, procedures, laws, and standards in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support the team on conducting compensation survey and analyzing the associated reports.
  • Prior work experience on payroll information and processing and its associated compliances is a must.
  • Maintaining various statutory registers, knowledge of returns and managing HR audits would definitely be an asset.
  • Process performance reviews, merit increases, market corrections, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions in a timely manner. Familiarity on Competency Mapping and Assessment, Succession planning, IDPs would be an advantage.
  • Process leaves of absence in accordance with company policy and in compliance with the central, and state statutory norms.
  • Support in developing, implementing, supporting, and reviewing HR department initiatives, policies, procedures, processes, and systems. It is the analytical role on data analysis and reports related to hiring updates (Daily/Weekly/ Monthly & Quarterly), employee census reports, status update reports on multi-location HR operations and people metrics, for example - Employee Turnover etc. The role requires reviewing and improving the existing report templates and developing the complex reports in simplified & comprehensive understandable formats.
  • Properly and timely document all employee related interactions.
  • Projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Human Resources best practices with emphasis on employee relations as well as processes, policies, and procedure. Familiarity with related central and state laws or regulations will be preferred. Understanding multi-state employment laws will be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including, employee onboarding, employee relations, organizational diagnosis, organizational growth, performance management, recruitment, compensation and benefits.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal effectiveness at all levels in the organization and across cultures.
  • Adheres to SOPs and goals according to guidelines established.
  • Ability to apply change management initiatives to assist in business transformation.
  • Must use logic and reasoning to make immediate decisions under pressure or tight deadlines.
  • Ability to make proper judgment calls when presented by a situation/problem.
  • Strong sense of business ethics including the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects and attend to daily HR matters while maintaining focus and follow through on issues until resolved and delivering results as committed.
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve escalations by using judgment that is consistent with the standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations and/or government law.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting root cause analysis and strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to research and analyze various types of data.
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently execute a high volume and broad scope of tasks within tight deadlines, competing demands and changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to deal with frequent interruptions, changes, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to consult effectively with all levels of management with multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to establish credibility, be decisive and be able to recognize and support the organization\'s preferences and priorities.
Education and Experience:
  • MBA in Human Resources, or a related field or equivalent work experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of related Human Resources experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Human Resources best practices with emphasis on employee relations as well as related central, state laws and regulations required.
  • Technology and/or Consulting experience and/or PEO experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed.
